Asolo designed the Men's Avalon GTX Hiking Boot to tackle the toughest trails, the longest distances, and the harshest conditions. Gore-Tex gives this boot reliable waterproof and breathable protection in rainy, snowy, or muddy conditions, and the suede upper stays strong for seasons thanks to nylon reinforcement. Duo Asoflex lasting improves comfort and performance for long-distant trekking, backpacking, and hiking.

Underfoot, Asolo equipped the Avalon GTX with Matrix 2 technology, which includes a Lite 2 anatomic footbed, a protective PU cover, molded EVA inserts at the heel and midsole, and Asolo's reliable Sensor rubber at the sole. This Sensor sole has rugged, multi-directional lugs for superior traction on slippery surfaces.

Ive used the Fugitive from Asolo for years and love it as an EDC winter / hiking trekking boot. So with my Asolo love I figured Id give these a try. First impressions is that they are similar to the Fugitive but a bit narrower. I have a semi narrow foot probably more on the regular side. First 6.5 mile day hike (15-20ish pound pack) in these was ok. By the end my feet were slightly sore and I had a couple minor hot spots on the out side of my big toe. The boots are decently stiff though. Nice protection and my feet were super warm on a 38 degree day with wool socks.

The next day I wore them out to go to the store. My feet felt slightly sore in them and the hot spots on my toes were apparent. Ill report back once I get some more daily break in wear and trail time in them.

    Great style and super comfortable.
Got these in and they fit like a perfect glove, didn't need to break them in at all. Very comfortable through my hiking as it kept me warm in the colder climate and had good breatability when the sun was out.
The problem though it that they are not water resistant. 2nd day of my hiking trip, I had 17 miles to go when the wet conditions started. It was not fun to slush around in my boots for about 16 miles.
I do not recommend these boots for rainy / wet conditions. Even the occasional step in a puddle I felt created moisture in my boots.
    Nice boots though.
