Fuji has four microclimates.
The Asics Men's Gel-FujiEndurance Running Shoe handles longer distances through various microclimates and conditions with comfort and protection. Asics' new PlasmaGuard upper sheds any rain you pass, and it stays breathable for the warm and sunny sections. The removable ComforDry X-40 sockliner breathes, wicks moisture, and enhanced energy rebound at each step.
The Gel-FujiEndurance follows Asics' Impact Guidance System to give a natural gait for runners with neutral to under pronation rolls. There's a shock-attenuating Gel Cushioning System at the heel, and the Rock Protection Plate prevents bruising under the entire sole. Asics made the sole with highly abrasion-resistant rubber, and the Trusstic System saves weight by reducing rubber in key areas.

A Great Surprise
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: 42.5
Quality: If you have ever owned an Asics shoe you know the quality is some of the best in the industry, and the Gel-Fujiendurance serves up that top notch quality and some more. I have about 80 miles on the shoe that itâs showing little wear, and is having no signs of any issues with regard to quality. Score 5/5
Comfort: I was hesitant to go with the Fuji. Asics is not know on the trail running scene and I am extremely funny about fit. However, this shoe fit like a glove, which is right up my ally. The front half of the shoes was snug, not as narrow as a Salomon Sense Pro, but could cause issues for anyone with wide feet. The large lugs do stand out - you can certainly feel them providing cushion, a big highlight of the shoe. I only ran with them on dry rocky single track, as well as a few miles of road to get to the trail, so not sure how the big lugs or PlasmaGuard will perform in wet conditions, but on the dry conditions they provided great tracking and comfort.
Weighing in at 11.9 I would like for the next version to peel some weight.
Solid bumper, Lace Garage, rock plate, and heel cup. Score 4/5
Price: At $180 Retail - itâs simply too much. That said, score a pair on sale and it comes down to where shoe prices should be. Score 3/5
Looks: At first sight I wasnât sure on the look, but it has grow on me. Score 3.5/5
