Evo5 Beacon

Arva's Evo collection of avalanche transceivers gets smaller and lighter every single season. The Evo5 Beacon is officially Arva's smallest and lightest option for backcountry touring, and it touts a greater digital range than the Evo4. Despite its shrunken size, the Evo5 has a larger screen that's backlit for viewing in lower light, and it's super simple to use with a three-position slider and a single button—both are glove-friendly. This beacon comes fully featured with group check, mark function, and automatic revert-to-transmit modes, and a unique carry strap that lets you carry the beacon in multiple ways.

Slim and easy to use

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Fit:
True to size

I lost my old BCA beacon somehow and a friend of mine recommend the EVO5 last season. This is sooooo much lighter and slimmer than my old BCA clunker that I've had for years. I keep this in the chest pocket of my bibs and barely even notice it. I haven't had to use it an any emergency situations yet (knock on wood) but it is very easy to use and the directions are easy to follow. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a small, lightweight beacon that they can carry in a bib pocket or pant pocket.

Small and Awesome

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I have been using the tracker 1 for years and finally upgraded. The Evo5 fits well in every pocket and it is so small you won't even know its there. With a 50m range Arva did not sacrifice any performance for size. Switching from transmit to seek is completely streamlined that ensures quick and easy application when it really counts. I am super happy with my upgrade. 10/10 would recommend.
