Your training doesn't stop just because the temperature drops.

Your first trail 10K isn't going to train for itself. Get out there in the Arc'teryx Women's Thaleia Hooded Fleece Jacket, and train in comfort on blustery autumn days. This midweight pullover fleece hoodie stretches for comfort and has an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio. It is perfect for running or other high-output activities and is a great under a shell when the weather turns nasty. A trim fit and low-profile hood with wrap-around collar provide performance and warmth without adding bulk. Flatlock construction reduces chafing and irritation, while thumbholes hold your sleeves in place. A zippered security pocket with locking slider keeps your keys or other essentials secure, and a media port gives you access to the tunes that inspire you to keep on running.

Adequate is the best way to put it.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Large

I don't think this is really worth the money. It was warm enough for mild temps (high 40s, backpacking in Vermont in September) but as a baselayer in the Berkshires on a 20 degree windchill
The fit is tight. Usually I buy a large in everything because I can't stand clothing that makes you feel like you're being squeezed and in everything else, it gives me little to moderate room to breathe and ends up giving a little length to it. This was very snug and shorter than I'd pictured it in my head based on the product pics. Additonally, the design just isn't good once you get it on. The position of the pocket is awkward, especially for any activity that you're going to be wearing a pack because you can't access the pocket. The neck is too high, not in a comfortable or ideal way to keep you warm, but (not to be redundant) awkward way.
Aesthetically: I got Cherrywine and it was a burgundy color, but the back pocket color is awkward (thankfully I can't see it!).
I wouldn't recommend this item, not for the price. There's better options out there for less money.

    Well, maybe 3.5 stars

This shirt gets the job done, but just wasn't quite what I expected of it. I ordered this in the beautiful black cherry. I love the color, and the fit of the longer torso and sleeves with thumbholes. I docked a star for the way the pocket (on back of the hip which is not shown in the pictures) is of different material and color so it stands out like a sore thumb. I also docked a star (which I wouldn't have minded only docking half a star) for how snug/ high the neckline hits. This design is great for keeping warmth in, sure, and maybe it won't bother some people, but it is a bit more "all up on my neck" than I would honestly like. It isn't so tight that it is choking me or anything, but it is snug enough that I just can't quite ignore it. Yes, I thought about sending it back, but I also kind of like the shirt so I held onto it.

    Either way.

My only other criticism is that with it being a waffle top fleece I was expecting it to be a bit warmer. I have a generic polar fleece waffle top that I love, and have nearly killed over the years which is why I bought this one to replace it, and this top just doesn't quite live up to that generic one. The upside to this is that the Thaleia vents well. I have used it for cool weather bouldering and didn't find myself freezing or overheating. So that's good. I'm sad to say that I wouldn't really recommend this shirt. It isn't bad really, I mean, it's ok and I will keep using it occasionally, but for the price I don't find it to be magnificent. And darn it, I buy Arcteryx with the expectation that it WILL BE magnificent. But hey, maybe it will be exactly everything you need it to be...

    Well, maybe 3.5 stars

    Warm and Comfy

I love this soft technical fleece - it's warm, soft, and looks great. It's a slim fit, so it's perfect for running on a cool day, or just wearing out on a cool day. I love the back zipper pocket for holding a key, gel, etc. The hood also fits well, and I don't know how I ever survived shirts without thumbholes. I found this at a store in Canada and liked it so much I ended up ordering one in another color from Backcountry. I would definitely recommend this!
