The good and not as good.....

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 30
    • Height: 5'7"
    • Weight: 155lbs

Good: comfortable fabric - front zippered thigh pocket fits a large phone (i.e. iPhone 6+) very well and comfortably, front pockets are super deep (great for a front pocket wallet).

Not as good: rear pockets are very shallow and hard to close with the snaps if you can fit your wallet. Deeper w/ Velcro closures would get this 5 stars.

Fits Great (But Latest Sizing Changes)

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 30" Waist
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 145lbs

Being 6'0" and 145 lbs, I'm pretty skinny. The Arc'teryx Stowe Shorts are low profile, slim, and thin material, making them an awesome fit for me. HOWEVER, if I'm paying almost ninety dollars for shorts, I expect them to be bomb proof and stand up to daily wear and tear. These shorts disappoint in that department. See tears and abrasions in photos. I will probably purchase another pair if they're heavily discounted because they fit me. But seriously, for the price, where's the quality, Arc'teryx???

Addendum: I've read reviews that the pockets are too small. I've found them to be just right. Again, I like the slim, low profile fit, so baggy pockets could detract from the design.

Addendum #2: I recently ordered another pair in Tamarind color in the same size as my previous pairs (30 waist). However, Arc'teryx has made two significant changes to these shorts. The waist is now 2 inches LARGER than a year ago. I had to reorder a size 28 waist to get the same fit as the previous 30 waist. This is also apparent when I place one pair over the other on a flat surface-same waist size. Also, Arc'teryx designed the pockets much deeper than the previous design. I think this is in response to some other reviews that complained of the pockets being too small. I found them to be fine (this is a minimalist, slim fit after all). The new pockets bottom out at about 4 inches above the bottom of the shorts. Also beware, the color will fade fast in these shorts.

I've changed my rating to 4 stars from 3 because, despite the spontaneous holes developing and the color fading in the my previous pairs, I love these shorts. Best fitting shorts I've owned.

Fits Great (But Latest Sizing Changes)

Like a lot but has shortcomings....

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: XL
    • Height: 6'
    • Weight: 240lbs

Love the fabric, the fit and the looks of these shorts, already one of my favorites. Two issues I have with them and they would get 5 stars. First, the back pockets are too small, a regular wallet barely fits in them. Second, the flaps for the back pockets are held in place by metal snaps, those snaps are awful. I have 3 pairs of Stowes between shorts and pants, all three the metal snap on the right rear pockets have come off from brushing up against door ways or other wall type objects. The snaps are a terrible design. I like the shorts so much though I'm going to take them to my seamstress and have her fashion some other form of closure for the pocket flap, maybe some velcro.
