Made for getting after it.
Slim enough to wear under a shell and durable enough to be sported on its own on climbing trips, hikes, and ski tours, the Arc'teryx Arenite Men's Fleece Jacket is the perfect layer for just about every outdoor activity you can think of. It's made of Cobblecomb fleece, which has a smooth, durable outer layer and a soft inner weave that feels great against skin, and wicks moisture efficiently to keep you dry and comfortable during higher-intensity activities. In classic Arc'teryx style, the Arenite has an athletic fit, and it also features gusseted underarms for freedom of movement for climbing, skiing, and backpacking. The high collar has a soft chin guard to reduce chin irritation, and the two zippered hand pockets are compatible with packs and harnesses, as well as finished with water-resistant zippers to keep your snacks and phone dry.

- Q & A
Beware of the zipper
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: large
I own other Arc gear. The fabric, the details and the fit of the Arenite were fine. However, the main zipper does not stay zipped up. Since this is an 'insulating' garment, protecting the neck and upper chest are important, but the main zipper does not do so. If Arc uses a 'locking' zipper in the future I will purchase the product but had to return the current model. On a premium product, at a premium price, all elements of a garment should perform well.
This is an amazing jacket. Fits true to size. I have never been let down by Arc'teryx products, and this jacket is no exception. Super warm and comfortable.
Love this jacket
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: Small
I own both the hooded and non hooded version of this jacket. It is the perfect fleece jacket to wear around town, or to use as a layer on super cold days. The non hooded version (this review) works perfectly as a mid layer for skiing on cold days, but is a little too warm for high output activities like running or touring. It is a fleece jacket, so wind will go through it (not a soft shell, and not a hard shell) It is the perfect fleece to wear as a mid layer or as a jacket around town. I am 5'8" 150lbs and the Small fits perfectly. The build quality is what you would expect from Arc'Teryx, and is showing no wear and tear after a ton of use and quite a few washes.
Is there a waist cinch on this fleece?
