Just when you think one of your favorite Arc'teryx pieces can't get any better, it does! I have had several of the old style Vertices (with the elastic around the face opening) over the years. When they redesigned them last season, I was stoked! The hood and balaclava are so much better now! I own every color from last season and this season and use them every weekend at Mammoth and in the Sierra backcountry. I've also been known to wear them to work. It's versatile and comfy. Perfect for me!

I bought this Hoodie for ski touring and it's perfect. The material is very soft and thick enough to wear without a jacket when ski touring (~35-40 degrees with sunshine) or acts as a great base layer when it's cooler. I really like the balaclava style hood...it protected my neck/face from the sun when it was scorching and from the wind when it was cold. I wore it 5 days in a row without washing it and it didn't smell particularly awful :) Highly recommend this piece to any outdoor enthusiast's wardrobe!

I mean it. I want to live in this thing. It's sooo soft and cozy! I love the scuba hood, and the little zipper pocket is perfect for keeping your car key and some cash safe while you're out and about. This runs true to size; I'm always a S in Arc'teryx and this piece is no exception. I purchased it in the Rhassoul color, and it's absolutely gorgeous. 10/10 would recommend.

I am so stoked to have bought this baselayer! It is the softest baselayer I have owned. I have a problem with Merino wool being too itchy for my skin and this top I never want to take off. I am interested to try it ski touring this winter, just waiting for the snow to fall.

It is by far the softest material in all of my gear. I love wearing this as a base layer, and the storm balaclava will come in handy, for sure (I have not tested it for skiing yet). I am usually always a Medium in Arcteryx clothing but bought this in Small to use it as a baselayer. It fits great and still has room, so it doesn't have a tight fit. I assume the breathability and durability will match my other Arcteryx pieces. Just too bad there isn't a male version of this ... I actually asked Backcountry as I wanted my boyfriend to experience this material as well!

My wife bought this hoodie, here's her review: This hoodie is perfection. It's turned into my favorite layer for skiing and I use it all the time for trail running as well. It breathes really well when worn on its own and keeps me really comfortable on the hill skiing. I thought the hoodie might make me feel claustrophobic, especially under my ski jacket, but I actually love the added insulation around my neck. The fit is TTS and is pretty stretchy. Love it so much I bought my mom one.

Bought this in a medium and fits perfect. Green is gorgeous and looks great with the Airblaster bibs in wild tribe. Very warm and soft.

Pretty badass

So, I don't climb mountains or anything like many people here - but I can say I wear this riding my horses where you need clothing that moves and this is the ticket. I also wear it to work out in barns and it's very functional, has great coverage behind and doesn't ride up when it's 10 below in dairy barns.

Exceptional fabric, cut, function, color-works layered over and under other pieces, moves with the body , great craftsmanship. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes a versatile well made piece for either serious performance or casual comfort.

FREAKING LOVE IT!

This is one the most favorite items of clothing I have. I wore this during a backcountry ride outside of Mammoth and it was perfect! I didn't get too hot on the skin up, and it kept me warm during the windy ride down. The fit is perfect - like one person said below, it is well fit across the chest and shoulders (and I'm 34DD) and perfectly on the waist, not baggy - just comfortable! I am about to buy this in the other colors since it went on sale!

Madly in LOVE with this piece!

I 100% agree with Annie, this is the GREATEST midlayer out there! The Grenadine color is amazing and fit is flattering, true to size. Quality is top notch, as always Arc'teryx kills it in the durability and construction. It's so comfortable and soft, I love the stretch in the fabric and I adore the hood, it fits nicely under a helmet. I wear this piece snowboarding, backpacking, and for casual wear! I wish I had this piece in every color!

Light, warm, stretchy

Familiarity:

This is the greatest midlayer ever made, in my opinion. The fabric is so soft and supple that this is very comfortable to wear as a midweight base layer, but it's also a very attractive, beautifully fitted piece that I have been wearing casually. I expected it to be shiny but it's not- the fabric is a very soft synthetic blend. It's tightly woven fabric which allows the top to be very warm without being heavy or bulky at all- typical Arc'teryx top of the line quality. The top is fitted through the shoulders and chest and a bit looser through the waist and hip to allow for a full range of motion. The neck is really high and the hood fits close to the head which eliminates the need for a balaclava. My iPhone fits perfectly in the small hip pocket. I have used this top skiing, hiking, climbing, for casual wear, and to my late and cold softball games. There is not a single thing that I would change!

Soft and warm

Has a pilcro lining that keeps the interior dry and soft. I wore the balaclava hood while it was dumping and it kept me dry and toasty. Love the grenadine color! Good quality.

Love it

I have yet to try it out on the mountain since I just got it, but I have to say this thing is warm and super comfy. Like the other reviewer said the neck goes up high and when you don't have the hood on, it doesn't feel too bunched up in the back. The hood can easily fit under a helmet. I bought it in the grenadine and it's a great color. Now I want it in slate!

Yes! Love the vertices

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Have you ever bought something on a whim not knowing how much use you would get out of this? Well, that was the vertices hoody for me. I wear this top skiing- as the neck goes up high and keeps me nice and warm, and the hood works great under a helmet on wet and snowy days. I always wear this from day to day just because it is amazingly comfortable and cozy. I need it in every color!
