I own two.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Large

This is one piece that is always in my gear bag whether its backpacking, snowboarding or lounging. It believe it works best for snowboarding because it is slim fit but long cut so you can layer easily and get a good tuck in as well. Also the hood can be used as a face guard and I wear the hood underneath my helmet. I've been on more than 50 ski trips and a dozen camping trips, I've use this thing a handful and the only damage is the seeming on the hood.

This thing is great, for certain things. I wear it skiing, primarily. At first, I didn't love the built in face mask, and hood, but it has grown on me. I was used to skiing with a buff, which I no longer need. I typically don't rock it on warmer days, though, because it keeps me pretty toasty. The thing about this layer, is if you're too warm, there isn't much of an option to cool down. You take off the face mask, but then you're still left wearing a turtle neck. I also like the fit. It's a little longer in the torso, which I prefer, for all of my skiing layers.

Awkward fit hood for long hair

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Large
  • Height: 6'0"
  • Weight: 165lbs

If you are looking for a light baselayer then this is it. I have long hair and it is too tight around my neck. When the hood is down i don’t like the way it looks with all the extra fabric infront of my neck. There aren’t any thumb holes either. I was expecting a little with the price so I ended up returning the item. I got the purple one and the color was really nice. I considered giving it to my gf as a gift but decided it wasn’t worth it in the end. I am 6’0 tall and 160 lbs. The large fit me. I would have kept it if it had thumbholes.

the reason it is tight is because it has a built in balaclava designed to be against the skin. The fabric in front of your neck is what goes over your nose when the hood is up and on you. I agree with you that they could use some thumb holes and I will pass that feedback on.

Stylish, technical, simple

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Fit: True to size
  • Height: 5'9"
  • Weight: 145lbs

Bought this as a gift and have heard nothing but good things back about it. Fit is true to size, material is technical and going to keep you warm on any type of mission, and simple design is perfect so you aren't digging in multiple pockets looking for different things on your ski missions. Also great for wearing into town in the fall or spring. A true mid-layer quiver killer.

Best Base Layer

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Large
  • Height: 5'10"
  • Weight: 150lbs

I am 5'10 and 150lbs with an average build and the large fits very comfortably, I could fit into a medium if I wanted a more trim fit. What made me purchase this is the hood design, I like that it doesn't have a zipper since I wanted to use this for colder days and touring. No zipper means nothing rubbing against your chin, and the hood has a snug fit, not loose. For touring being able to put the hood helps keep the wind and weather out while keeping my head warm. If it's a nicer day touring I'll keep the hood down and it works like a buff. For resort days I pair this with a Flylow Tech Flannel. With the hood down it keeps the weather out. I use a Flylow Quantum jacket. The hood down fills the neck of the jacket and keeps the cold out and the warmth in.

The picture below is from a day touring Berthoud Pass, CO in this. Got some deeper pow than expected :)
