Superb all-around piece!
Arc'teryx technical pieces are among office favorites when it comes to all sorts of outdoor activities. I frequently find myself wearing pieces intended for high-alpine adventures just around town. They do the job, but are often overkill. For example, the Beta jacket is among the best shells available. However, for daily use here in Utah, that level of weather protection is not needed. Enter the Solano jacket. Using Gore-Tex Infinium this jacket is water-resistant enough for rainy days in and out of shelter. It is windproof so is also great for the days when you're not sure about what the weather will throw your way. Infinium is a lightweight, soft layer which eliminates the typical shell noisiness . The brushed liner provides a feeling of warmth that many technical shells lack. It is not insulated, but provides room to layer on chilly days. By itself, it really shines as a shoulder season/unpredictable weather piece. Super stoked on this jacket and can't recommend it enough! True to sizing relative to all my other Arc'teryx tops. The Black Sapphire is more of a dark grey/blue. Still goes well with any color, but it will not be a true black.
