Quality construction and materials
I needed a rain resistant jacket for commuting (pedestrian/ public transit) to work during the rainy-but- not -too -cold winters where I live. I wanted weatherproof but polished enough for professional settings. The cut is lean and tailored, and tapers off at the waist a little higher than the images convey. I’m petite (5’3, 110lbs, no chest, XS) and was hoped the length would extend a little over my butt but nope. However, the slim fit and minimal design is work / city appropriate. Given the short length it’s not what I’d select for more outdoorsy activity. I purchased the Sapphire color which was true to the image here and is essentially a dusty black navy blue. The material is feather light with the thinnest lining. It fit true to size, and didn’t leave a lot of room for layering. I run cold and was worried about it not being warm enough — But that concern went out the window the first time I wore it. The jacket is windproof, the seaming and zippers are air and watertight... and just so well made. I got caught in a freak downpour and the rain beaded off of me like I was a rainex’d windshield. Only negative is that it’s so effective at repelling water in a downpour that due to the shape of the cut and gravity, anything that hit the jacket tended to “drain” downwards, so legs / jeans absorbed all the “runoff” and ended up significantly more soaked. Despite that, absolutely love this light little jacket for city shlepping. Highly recommend.
