When Ullr provides the goods, all who seek out snowy, untouched lines provide thanks by having the most fun humanly possible. Just don't forget to reach for the Arc'teryx Women's Shashka Jacket in the event that Ullr decides to bestow the world with an additional helping of snow. Designed for touring or on-piste activities, the Shashka features a snowsport-friendly construction ranging from its hidden Recco reflector all the way to its grippy powder skirt.
The Shashka is fashioned with a lightweight and packable Gore-Tex Pro exterior, which is not only waterproof, windproof, and durable, but highly breathable as well. Additionally, this jacket features zippered underarm vents that are easy to use with a gloved hand, and ultimately provide on-the-go temperature regulation so you don't have to shed your jacket in favor of dumping excess body heat. An articulated, 3D fit enables unrestricted mobility, while the fully adjustable hood is helmet-compatible, which means you don't have to skimp on protection. Not to mention, the myriad of pockets keep necessities close at hand, and the drop tail hem provides added coverage in the face of whipping winds and unpredictable elements.

Not for Snowboarding/Skiing
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
- Fit:
- Runs small
- Size Bought
- Medium
- Height
- 5` 7.5"
- Weight
- 134 lbs
5'7 1/2", 134 lbs, ordered a size Medium. I returned the jacket. It's a good quality shell but I wouldn't wear it snowboarding. I think it would make a good hiking jacket but that's not what it's advertised to be. Issues: 1.) Too short. The jacket is not long enough. Even with a bib (versus snowboarding pants) I would not wear such a short jacket on the mountain. Maybe for groomers on a day with zero powder but otherwise, no. 2.) More slim fit than regular fit, so it feels cramped with more than just a lightweight layer underneath. 3.) There's no media pocket. If you don't have bluetooth helmet speakers then you'll need to buy some.

Like the rest of Arc'teryx's line, this thing is great. Got it for my wife as a gift and she's a big fan. Comfortable, durable, and keeps her warm and dry.

Backcountry touring just found a partner
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Fit:
- True to size
- Height
- 5` 10"
- Weight
- 146 lbs
Arc'teryx figured it out when designing this jacket for backcountry skiing, snowshoeing, splitboarding, and for a multitude of other uses as a bonus (I RESORT SKI with this as well). The articulation is there (lifting and reaching with my arms is comfortable, non-binding and the jacket stays put--even with my more athletic shoulder size); Gore-tex pro fabric will guarantee you stay dry and still have some breathability, underarm venting helps when exerting, and little hidden tricks like the sleeve that flares slightly to fall neatly over the gloves (simplicity with a purpose...) Since I believe in BUILDING my wardrobe from hear to year--and don't plan to wear it and toss it after a single season, cost is worth the price when you consider how many years you'll be using it and NOT paying to replace it. LOVE IT (beautiful colors too!)

Bought for friend she raves about it. Her feedback: Falls about mid-hip and she loves the slim fit; still roomy enough for a mid layer, works great with the Arc'teryx Atom jacket. Super high quality to wear for multi activities.
