Tight but OK

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

As others have mentioned, it is tight. I can usually only bear with it when sitting idle. Still useful for me, just not my preferred on the move article because it bunches up. But does the job keeping the wind off while sitting at camp. If you are a smaller person, maybe a great piece.

Too tight!

Watch out if you have a muscular neck. This doesn’t stretch much. Ended up scrunched into a thin little band around the neck, which was useless on windy, snowy days. This was a miss for my husband.

    Après ski fashion only!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I needed a neck warmer, and at the time when I was considering this purchase Backcountry was offering 30% off one Arc'Teryx item incentive. - How could I resist?

I have a few garments/items by Arc'Teryx and they are what everyone should expect; high quality, functionally designed, and lasting. - If you purchase the 'tech ware' - Mistakenly I thought this would be. It's an overpriced thin wool tube sock you wear on your neck that will keep you warm and function for a run or two...

I snowboard here in the northeast where neck and face protection is a must. This particular item bunches around the base of my neck in a way that can become uncomfortable and you have to fix it during activity. The Arc'Teryx logo embroidery is in a position that you'll wear on your face if you pull it up to cover it, and if you rotate it around 180° then the seam is in your mouth, ugh. The material is pretty thin wool, which can be both a good and bad thing depending on the day/conditions, but often loses its "shape" when removed and I have to work to straighten it out or fix it before putting it back on.

This item is perfect for the fashionable après ski model who is ready to hit the lodge, drink a hot toddy, and talk about all the runs they didn't take that day.

I just noticed Arc'Teryx's AR neck gaitor, this seems more appropriate. My other consideration is Burton's (Anon) MFI face protection, and goggle (m2) setup. -I might be making that switch!

Softest wool ever to touch my skin

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This truly is the softest Merino wool to ever touch my skin! I have pretty sensitive skin and while wool is the warmest I am very sensitive to it so I am so happy I can wear it and not itch all day. It keeps me so warm on those cold snowy days when skiing. The thin layer keeps me super warm while also offering great mobility. It is not chunky around my neck which is key when shredding the gnar gnar. Highly recommend it.

    Soft Warm and comfortable

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

When I got it, it have a little bit weird smell. But after wash it, the bad smell is gone. I like it's soft feeling and it's keeping my neck and face warm. This merino wool is softer than my merino base layer.

Who's up for a ski day?

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This neck gaiter is the perfect weight. Its not too thick to restrict your movement, but still keeps the wind and snow from going down your neck. The material is super soft and comfortable around your neck. Total thumbs up.
