Just when I thought I couldn’t possibly love another Arcteryx jacket as much as my Atom LT - I purchased the Proton FL and was proven wrong. This thing keeps me warm on chilly mornings, and it absolutely DUMPS heat when I’m workin’ hard. I started a run at 38 degrees, a little chilly, but the jacket kept me comfortable... and I didn’t take it off during the entire run, despite the sun and a 20 degree temperature increase. This thing is amazing. And the mesh lining inside is really pleasant on the skin. I’ve even started opting for it when working on the laptop on the porch over my cozy knit sweater. 10/10 would recommend. Worth noting if you have experience with Arcteryx jackets: I have an Atom LT and a Proton LT and (at my tall height) I prefer the fit of the Atom over the Proton... my main concern in purchasing this jacket is that I’ve never liked the fit of my Proton LT as much... however, the fit of this jacket is just as comfortable as the Atom LT - Similar length in the arms, and a slightly longer torso than the Atom LT.

I wear this jacket every single day! Whether its layering or just wearing it on its own. It is perfect to wear under a shell while skiing and also great to wear on its own during the warmer days. I probably should have gotten an XS but i usually wear it over my bibs while ski touring so it gives me a little extra room. Would reccomend x10

This is my favorite year-round item! It is great on cooler nights, and also works as the best mid layer under my ski shell. I generally wear a Smart Wool base layer, this jacket, and a ski shell. Probably the item that I wear most throughout the year. I can wear it year-round and it has held up so very well.

Perfect jacket for fall activities! Took it on a 2 hour hike where it was 60 degrees at the bottom of the mountain and 45 degrees at the top, the jacket had great temperature regulation for the entire hike! Very lightweight and breathable, my new go to jacket!

I was really impressed by this jacket. I took it on a few trips in Utah and then on a camping trip in Big Bend in Texas and was really happy with how well it performed. It has a bit of a slim fit that was perfect for climbing and hiking, and kept me warm camping on the cold nights. I was always warm, but it never felt bulky, and the arms had plenty of length for climbing and reaching without feeling like they were ever too short. Overall this jacket preformed way beyond my expectations

I absolutely adore this Arc'teryx jacket. Seriously love at first sight! The FL stands from "fast and Light", and I can confirm that this jacket is a perfect minimalist garment for high performance in varying weather. It is lightweight and breathable, which makes it perfect for those slightly chillier and windier days!

I was excited to try the new Proton FL jacket. It fit just slightly slimmer than my Atom LT in the same size. I could fit a baselayer under it with room for a medium fleece, and even a heavier weight fleece worked, making the jacket fitted, since there is a little stretch to the Proton fabric. I liked the direct insulation, and it would make it a good jacket to wear just over a short sleeve top, since the lining feels nice on bare arms. The hood is a little different in that it only has insulation part way up. I'm sure that's for breathability. My only concern was that I could see tearing right through it if I hung the jacket by the hood on a hook. Of course that could be avoided. I would have kept the jacket, if it wasn't for the fact that when zipped up all the way with the hood up, the front came clear up over my mouth. That's a good feature in a rain jacket, but it's not something I want in a lightweight jacket/mid-layer like this. With the hood down, I could push it under my chin, but then it ballooned out and the zipper was uncomfortable against my neck. You can actually see that it fits the same way on the model in the photos on the Arcteryx website. To some people the tall collar is probably an advantage, and it may not fit other people the same way as me and the Arcteryx model , so I do recommend the jacket if you're considering it.
