The ideal jacket for climbing, hiking, biking, day-to-day living...anything. Such a sleek look, comfortable material, and perfectly strechy wrist cuffs. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.

    High Output Pursuits

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large

This jacket is pretty slick but it definitely is not the jacket for everyone or every use. More than anything this jacket is at home in active pursuits. If you want a jacket for your dawn patrol in Jackson, an ice climb in the Rockies or climbing granite in the fringe seasons this piece is great. It gases extra heat off extremely well but does a good job at maintaining the heat that you have accumulated when sitting still. The DWR coating as does a pretty good job a keeping light moisture at bay but for wet storms I would definitely recommend throwing on a rainshell. The pockets are also pretty high staying mostly out of the way of a harness. The overall fit is perfect for a middle to outer layer. It is slim enough to fit under a shell but roomy enough to not feel like a scuba suit when you wear it as an outer layer. I'm 6'2 175;bs and the large fits me really well.

    The Cadillac of Light Jackets

    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 160lbs

The Proton FL balances the need to stay warm in the spring and late fall without overheating. No more layering up then layering down - just roll with this incredible lightweight insulated jacket.
There are 2 fleece lined hand pockets are lovely, I don't use the chest pockets but they don't bother me, the jacket blocks the cold and wind well too.
I've used this jacket while climbing more than anything up in the mountains. True to its name, the jacket feels fast and light. I don't feel restricted in the slightest.

    The Shoulder Season Piece

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'11"
    • Weight: 170lbs

I wasn't able to use this during shoulder season, but did get two cold alpine starts in it during a trip to the Uintas. The piece functioned exactly as expected and described. The material was breathable on the arms and parts of the body, but insulating when it needed to be. I really liked the balance of wind resistance to breath-ability too. The arms are fitted and will not get in your way. The size is spot on for using a harness. I went for the more fitted option, but probably could have moved up to a Large if need be.

Definitely invest in this layer if you are in need of a shoulder season or Alpine summer piece.

    Welcome to the family.

This is a first impression review as this jacket is brand new to the line. But from what I can tell it is renamed from the "Practitioner" jacket from their working professionals line. This jacket is amazing!

    Perfect jacket for moderate cold

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 5'11"

This jacket keeps me at a perfect temperature in moderately cold weather and breaths very well when active, very well built and comfortable

The new approach to "Fast and Light"

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: XL
    • Height: 6'2"
    • Weight: 215lbs

This jacket was well known as the "Ryze hoody" previously which was turned into a new fast and light (FL) product in the proton series. Specifically designed for alpine pursuits and very compatible with a harness having a shorter front and longer drop hem center back length at 30.4 inches which is longer than a lot of the synthetic down products from Arc'teryx. Chest pocket accessibility, and a very breathable Fortius Air exterior material making it the most versatile and durable jacket you will own. Pair it with a shell or fleece as a fantastic layering piece and go get after it!
