    Always reliable.

Though it's the middle child in Arc'teryx's impressive lineup of baselayers, the Women's Phase AR Zip-Neck Top won't be forgotten about easily. If you're heading to the resort on a cold day, don't be afraid to pile on as many layers as you need over this breathable, form-fitting pullover; it'll wick moisture while delivering breathable insulation on frigid chairlift rides and gusty bootpacks.

The next day, when the skintrack and untouched powder beckon, wear it on its own as you hike to stay dry and warm while you work your way up the skintrack for your fresh turns. And when the snow starts to melt, don't even think about putting it in your drawer for the summer. This versatile top shines on spring trail runs or high-elevation backpacking trips. Wherever and whenever you need breathable insulation, the AR is prepared to give it.

    • Rely on this baselayer to always deliver breathable warmth
    • Breathable polyester fabric wicks moisture rapidly
    • Form-fitting cut makes layering easy
    • Zipper allows for quick heat dumps on the skintrack
    • Flatlock seams significantly reduce likelihood of chafing

Great staple for any active wardrobe. I bought this originally as a layer for skiing, but I've used it for just about every activity I do. Light-weight, great at wicking, looks great. Definitely recommend.

    Can't handle wool

I owned a similar base layer from Arcteryx in wool, and couldn't handle the itchiness. This is a great alternative that still works as an amazing base layer.

    Versatile and comfortable.

This is one of my favorite synthetic baselayer tops. I prefer my baselayers to fit somewhere between "relaxed' and "snug," and the small in the AR fits perfectly. The sleeves are just the right length, as is the hem, and the quarter zip allows me to dump heat when I need to. The fabric itself wicks-away moisture, dries quick, and is super stretchy. I often wear the AR running, skiing, hiking, or climbing (it's like my Jane of All Trades synthetic baselayer). The flatlock seams don't chafe, and the underarm gusset ensures maximum mobility - in turn discouraging the hem from lifting and exposing your belly, which is a really great feature while climbing.

Almost too warm for me, almost

This top is so comfortable and warm, it's totally my go-to option for the colder ski days. The fit is a little smaller than I'm used to with other brands, but nothing that's stopped me from keeping toasty on the slopes! (I'm typically a medium in all tops that I purchase, but the large fit my chest much better, I'm a 32C for reference)

I must also say that I hesitated with this purchase because I have a significant fear of zippers getting cold and freezing me out. No hint of that problem here at all!

    Nice articulated arm.

The fabric under the arm pit is different than the rest. Gives it more breathability during activities. Comparing to other Arcteryx base layers, the Phase AR is not very smooth on the skin.
I also have the Phase SL, which is lighter in weight and super smoother on the skin.
I have the Rho LT, which is a little bit heavier weight than the Phase, but Rho is much softer with a thinner fleece lining on the inside.

I have been a fan of Arc'teryx for years. I own an older version of the AR zip top -- in florescent yellow. I felt it was time to upgrade as well as buy one that wouldn't blind my fellow BC skiers. I chose the Phase AR in the subtle, goes-with-anything, Black.

True to my older model, this baselayer performs to its word. I typically wear a lightweight wool layer under it and a micro-down jacket over the top, with my Arc'teryx shell as the finishing piece. The Phase AR fabric wicks sweat away from my skin which keeps me dry, and I'm sure you know that in the winter cold, dry means warm.

It's lightweight and the fit was spot on. Additionally, after 8 hours of skinning, I didn't stink. I usually reserve that phrase for merino wool. Needless to say, I'm impressed.

    Love it!!

I love the way this baselayer fits. It is comfortable and tight-fitting, and moves with my body so it feels like I'm not wearing it. Like everything Arc'teryx makes, it's worth the money!
