    Content with winter.

Winter can seem endless when you're dealing with below freezing temperatures for days on end and the skies have been grey for what feels like months, but the Arc'teryx Women's Patera Down Parka is here to make the coldest months of the year more tolerable with a clean, elegant look and full-featured design that will combat bone-chilling temperatures. Utilizing what it calls a Down Contour Construction and Down Composite Mapping, Arc'teryx placed high-loft goose down insulation throughout the body and arms of the jacket for supreme warmth and comfort on the coldest days. Then, it placed crimped, siliconized Coreloft synthetic in areas prone to moisture so the Patera retains insulating properties if you start to work up a sweat. All of this techy warmth is then held in place by a waterproof, breathable Gore-Tex shell so you can be sure you'll stay dry whether you're navigating slushy city streets or taking a snowy evening walk with your dog.

    • Clean lines and full-featured tech combine in this winter parka
    • Fully taped Gore-Tex shell delivers waterproof protection
    • 750-fill goose down and Coreloft synthetic insulation
    • Durable 75-denier fabric with DWR coating for added repellency
    • Gusseted underarms enhance mobility for a more comfortable fit
    • Insulated hood with a laminated brim and drawcords seal in warmth
    • Stretch-knit internal cuffs reduce cold drafts at sleeves
    • Item #ARC00C3

    Defective zipper, poor customer service

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: xs
    • Height: 5'6"
    • Weight: 115lbs

I am never buying another Arcteryx product again. This is an expensive product and I thought it would be worth it for the quality. Instead my zipper breaks within months of wearing. Even though this is clearly a sign of a defective product, Arcteryx instructed me to mail the product at my own expense. In the US you have to first ship it to Washington then they say it takes to 5-10 business days for it to be received at their Warranty Repair Facility in Vancouver, B.C. Then it will take another 4-6 weeks for them to get it back to you. This is their estimate. I mailed my jacket on 10/25 via two day shipping and I still don't know when I will get my jacket back . Again, I could tolerate this if I had actually worn and used this jacket for a couple of years rather than months when the zipper broke. When I spoke with a customer service representative today about my dissatisfaction with the quality and slow pace of service, she tells me that they have a lot of jackets to fix and that at least they are paying for the shipping back. That is the least a company can do when they sell a customer a defective product. Seems like they also need better training for their customer representatives too. I think it's important for consumers who are about to spent a signficant amount of money on a product to not only know about the quality of the product but how a company responds when they've sold a customer a defective product.

    Weird Fit

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 5'2"
    • Weight: 150lbs

I can't believe no one has mentioned the cut of the chest. I wear a B-Cup and ordered a large and there is extra material that points out. It looks ridiculous. Aside from that the body fits okay and the arms a little big. Just an all around strange fitting coat.

    Classic and Timeless

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Height: 5'6"
    • Weight: 140lbs

I can't say enough positive things about this jacket. The fit is perfect and it has just the right amount of fill insulation so it isn't overly puffy but really warm. The storm flat has small, low-profile snaps that are easy to open and close and offer a clean finish to the jacket aesthetic. I have the black sapphire and it's awesome because it wears like a traditional navy. Classic piece that will never go out of style!

    Warm but chic

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: m
    • Height: 5'4"
    • Weight: 140lbs

I really like the length of the jacket and that I can be warm when I walk my dog in cold mornings. I appreciate the fact that I can be warm and not look like giant marshmellow!!

    Sleek and Stylish!

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'6"
    • Weight: 120lbs

I bought this for my little sister who is getting through her first New York winter! Right away it fit her like a glove, though she's had issues with other coats in the past letting in too much air around the cuff! This has been perfect so far and keeps her warm, dry and toasty during her long commute to Long Island! The fit is slim, with a nice athletic feel. The pockets have been her favorite and keep everything dry and secure! Lovely Coat!

    Great jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 135lbs

Very warm jacket. 5'10 and 135, slim shoulders, and a medium fits very well. A small would have been tight across the shoulders. Very pleased with this jacket. It makes noise, but not very much, especially considering its waterproof. It is less bulky that the Patagonia 3-in-1 and I love the big hood.

Good coat bought because of fit

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

My wife was looking for a winter coat, that would be very warm (she is always cold) and be very waterproof. She wanted a coat that she could ware to work, but also on winter outings. We ordered the Arc'teryx Patera Down Parka - Women's coat and UBER
White Heat Down Parka - Women's coat both in a medium.
My wife is 5’11 130lbs with broad swimmers shoulders and very athletic build. We compared the coats, and she ended up choosing the Arc’teryx based solely on the fit.
To us it seemed the Uber was a much higher quality coat. The magnetic closures were awesome. She stated that the Uber coat was much warmer, and much lighter and looked less bulky. The matriels on the Uber felt far nicer then the Arc’teryx
The problem with the Uber coat was the length, for someone of her height, the coat only came to just below her seat. She was looking for a longer length.
The Arc’teryx has been a good coat, she has noticed she needs to lawyer a little more under it, but it has been very wind and water restitent. The fit of the Arc’teryx is perfect on her.

My wife loves it in -30

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 6'
    • Weight: 130lbs

I bought this jacket for my wife. She has been up near the Arctic Circle 600 km away temperatures of -30. She was very very happy with this jacket.

    Perfect

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I am loving this coat! I bought it because I wanted something warm, weatherproof, that could be worn with jeans or something dressier, and without fur on the collar - and this fit the bill in every respect. It has a nice shape, comfy puffy interior that is warm but not too thick, and is a great length; I'm 5'5" and it hits just above the knees. I usually wear a size 8 and the M fits me well.

    Great parka

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: S
    • Height: 5'4"
    • Weight: 125lbs

This has all that I have been looking for: more urban than sporty look. No large logos. I t is really really LIGHT WEIGHT. will be great for travel. The length is just right (just hit my knees). The fit is great - fitted around waist but not too tight around shoulders and sleeves. I can wear over my suit jacket.

The Ultimate Coat to Keep You Warm & Dry

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: Runs large

With Arc'teryx is hard to go wrong! This coat is no exception. Everyone in my family chipped in to get this coat for my mom. It is extremely good quality and keeps my mom warm and dry. She is headed to London for a few months and needed something to keep her warm, as she always gets cold! This was the perfect fit as it is completely waterproof and is nice and warm. She loves the length. She also said it was well worth the price!

    Ordered Too Large

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'5"
    • Weight: 135lbs

Based on other reviews, I ordered this coat in a MEDIUM, which was waaaaay to big for me. I am 5'5" and about 135lbs, so one the high end of a size 6, but this medium was far too big and will be going back. I hope this helps someone else in their decision making process.
Apart from the sizing issue, the coat looked fabulous. Loved the hood - it enveloped my head, so great for snowy or cold days.!! The black is a very soft back, almost a dark grey - very attractive.

I am 5'5 1'2 .. 130 and like the fit of Medium . It is generous with room for a sweater. Perhaps measurements are a better way to tell.... 37 chest.... 38 hips... there is room it looks on me the way it looks on the model in the video..

    Warm, Stylish, Functional

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'8"
    • Weight: 120lbs

This coat covers all the bases first it is seriously warm with a great hood. Yet it is very stylish and you do not feel like a puff ball. It is great in all conditions with the vortex fabric. I have broad shoulders and long arms and it fits great. I have a slight build so finding the right fit might be tough if you are bulkier.

    Love it!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large

I'm always cold so I wanted something extra warm and longer that I could wear on my commutes to work and walking around the city. I absolutely love this parka! Even on the windiest days, I'm toasty warm =)

    My Everyday Winter Coat

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'4"
    • Weight: 130lbs

I've been wearing this coat for a few weeks now and I cannot imagine not having it. I was looking for the perfect winter coat for years- something with 100% down and a strong waterproof outter shell. I got tired of buying multiple layers and finally decided to invest the money on this arcteryx beauty. I walk to work so having good gear is essential to my health and happiness. I can throw this coat on with only a t-shirt underneath and still maintain a great temperature. It's not only efficient but time saving. I no longer have to search for layers in the morning or peel them off when I get to work. The fit is sleek and not the slightest bit bulky. The coat tapers near the waist ever so slightly for a slimming look as well. The length helps to trap in heat and block out any wind. I can't wait to have this coat for many seasons!

    I love it!
