Built in durable belt for perfect fit at all times. All pocket zips and these have so many pockets. Stretchy for climbing and durable to withstand the abuse of climbing in/outside. Looks Great as casual wear, cargo pant's style. Fuzzy/soft material on the hips for comfort and warmth against skin or easy to layer below for cold crag days ect. A bit on the baggy side, super stylish. Haven't taken them off for a month! oops!

Not too thick and not too thin, I like the pockets on both sides which is really convenient. And the color is a pleasant surprise. The mongoose is not the green that shown on the picture above, instead it is more of a warm grey hue which I really love. Size is perfect for me at 34, I usually wear a M for arcteryx pants.

Excellent Pants

I've had several pairs of the Palisades pant and I must say that I love them. I do miss their older models where the fabric was rugged and could handle more of a beating. I mostly use these pants for climbing and trekking. Sandstone, limestone and granite will destroy these pants so be careful! These pants have excellent mobility. They've never hindered my movement during climbing or hiking a 14er. They are great for temperatures around 40F - 90F. Anything under and get a base layer and these are excellent. Anything above and just use some shorts. They are a bit noisy but they are stylish so I think it works out in the end. I feel their price could be lower but let's face it, we are buying both the brand name and item. I really recommend these pants!

Fabulous

Let me preface this by stating I have not “put this pant through the wringer” yet. However, I tried them one and let me tell you, it is fabulous. The size is perfect (38x32). The pockets are well seamed, they do not rub up against the skin. The material/build quality is amazing. This pant was purchased specifically for travel, as my previous joggers have seen better days. Of course, I am unable to attest to the durability of this product in the field (hiking, trekking, etc.). I totally recommend giving this pant a try if you’re searching for a solid product.

Great Pants, Mild Weather not too warm

These pants are great but i would not necessarily go for them when the weather is super hot, they are kind of thick. Sweat forms inside the pants which I don't like when it's too warm. I would even say more cool summer weather. The pockets are great, two horizontal side pockets, which I prefer for hiking, i don't like the side zip vertical ones. Fit is good, they don't stretch as much as other pants, and are not a slim fit. I find they are also great work pants too. I mainly use them for cooler summer pants and work pants.

Good, but a little "noisy"
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Fit:
- True to size
- Size Bought
- 34 Short
- Height
- 5` 9"
- Weight
- 175 lbs
I'm 5'9", 175lbs and the 34/short fits great. It's always nice to find pants that come in the shorter length. As for functionality, they're very light but seem to provide good protection from the sun, which is the main reason I wear lightweight pants instead of shorts. My only complaint is, the fabric is a little noisy, like some rain jackets tend to be. Seems like a small issue, but it can get annoying. Also, as others have mentioned, the short zipper is ridiculous. I know it's probably to save weight, but it is at the expense of important functionality. But no pants are perfect, and I plan to enjoy these a lot for the really hot days.

One problem
- Fit:
- True to size

Overall, the palisade hiking pants are my favorite international hiking pants. I have owned pairs for over a dozen years. The multiple zippered pockets are perfect for storing wallet, maps, passport, etc. The fabric is nearly indestructible. The new pants disappointed in only one respect. The front zipper is so short that the pants need to be unsnapped and dropped for a necessary function.

These were gifted to my husband for christmas and he wears them all the time. He is a huge Arc'teryx fan and almost all his outdoor gear is from them and so he wanted to do some of their pants. He is a fan and will order more for sure.

Great articulation and some stretch, handles a good impaling of sharp sticks hiking through the forest in Prescott, AZ. Spent a day kayaking and hiking, I wore these pants for both activities. Water mostly ran off these and otherwise quickly dried. Comfortable when temps were in the lower 60s up to low 80s. I was looking for a pair of pants that could do it all, looks like these will do nicely. BTW, all of the pockets and cool hook style belt are very nice additions.

I should leave the disclaimer that I've only had these for a couple of days. But I love the way they fit and look, and they are very comfortable. I'd bought some ArcTeryx shorts last year that were a little tight, so I took a chance and ordered some a little larger. I normally wear pants with a waist of 34 or 35, and I ordered this pair in a 36. They fit me great, so either all of the other pants in my wardrobe run large, or these run small. :) But either way, I'm very happy with these pants and would recommend and/or consider buying another pair. My only quibble - a very lightly stated one - is that they run a bit small.

Since my first Arc'teryx Palisades shorts and soon thereafter these pants - at least 10 years ago. I'd rather not wear anything else - unless, of course, the occasion calls for a tux. Got first pair for a trip to the Galapagos and then took them on my honeymoon on a small ship from Panama to Belize. Wash them in the sink, hang them up and, in 15 minutes they are dry. They are indestructible until you ride on a racing recumbent trike with big front wheels that will rub when you turn. Even then, just a 1/8th" hole that is difficult to see because of the black pocket material behind. Glad it was the shorts and not the nice long pants I wear in the evening. I think the company was sold to another company that kept the name and changed them. I ordered a new pair of shorts and of long pants. DIDN'T LIKE THEM and returned them. Going online it looked like they were now back like the originals so I ordered a new pair. Back like the originals! LOVE every pocket zippered - in black the zipper is pretty invisible. I have lost too many cell phones. For what it's worth, my wife loves me in the long pants in the evening!

Versatile and durable

I've used these everywhere in all kinds of conditions, from hiking in high summer , backcountry skiing on sunny spring days, or climbing in all kinds of conditions. I've been very impressed with these pants in all seasons (match underwear or long underwear and you're good to go!), and they show no serious signs of wear two years in! In blue they might be a little 'techy' looking due to the double zippered pockets (which is a great addition I find for climbing or skiing!), but they're just fine around town regardless.

Bought for my brother. He say, "What else can one say about Arc'teryx? The brand speaks for itself. Super comfy. I typically wear a 32 waist but know that their stuff runs a little slim, especially for a guy with big thighs. The 34 fit me perfectly"

I really like these pants. I'm on the skinnier side and I like slimmer pants so these really hit the spot for me. I'm 5'8'' 150 and I often have trouble finding outdoors pants that aren't crazy baggy. The built in belt is kinda a cool feature and zips on all the pockets are great as well. I've used these for camp, travel, and casual use, and have yet to be disappointed.

I have two pairs of the Palisade shorts and they are my all time faves. I decided to get the pants and they did not fit the same, they were snug in the seat, below the waist and top of the thighs. I was bummed. Perhaps I'll try them on again just to see if the ones I had were flawed.

Has Arc'teryx stopped making pants in 35" inseam? I have several pair of Palisade 32x35 pants which I like very much but 32" inseams are too short.
