    Arc'teryx Nevus sofshell pant fit

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 12
    • Height: 5'4"
    • Weight: 142lbs

I couldn't find many reviews out there (anywhere) for this pant. So, taking a chance on fit, I ordered it and am throwing in my 2 cents. I am 5'4", 142 lbs., 32" waist and 39" hips with a muscular butt and thighs. Based on the Arc'teryx chart, I ordered a size 12. Trying these on over Smartwool medium weight bottoms, I had to cinch in the waist a fair amount with the helpfully placed tabs. The pants were somewhat loose on me, but not baggy. To get the closer fit shown in the detailed pictures, I would have needed a size 10. However, I plan to wear these while playing in the snow with my kids and cross country skiing so I'm ok with a little extra room. The pants are plenty long without being excessive which I was looking for to keep out snow. I have not used them outdoors so no thoughts there yet. IMO, these are a bit low waisted in the back for sitting/bending during outdoor wear. I do not usually have this concern with pants. To keep out cold air, I will need to wear a long shirt and a longer jacket. The pants seem well made of heavy, slightly stiff material. I have had very good luck with Arc'teryx quality. ( Does anyone know what's up with the hyphen???) Happy trails!
