    The perfect relaxation shirt.

After a long day of hiking backbowls and ransacking powder stashes, put on the Arc'teryx Merlon Shirt, and sit down to relax. This no-nonsense, long-sleeve corduroy button-down is soft and has a comfortable amount of stretch. Articulated sleeves combine with underarm gussets to allow for freedom of movement during elaborate hand gestures describing how deep the snow was. Canvas paneling at the forearm, collar, and undercollar adds both style and durable functionality.

    Nice, but room for improvement.

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

For Arc'teryx, this runs a little large. For me, this is good. A standard Arc'teryx large is often too tight for me. This fits perfect, with the below qualifiers. This is well constructed, comfortable, appears verry durable, and "overall" looks sharp. Here is my issue with it. The hand packets bulge out and distort the silhouette of the shirt. For me, I'd be happy not having the hand pockets and would buy the other colors if this were the case. This is not thick enough to be used as a shirtjacket, so the hand pockets don't seem very useful. I'm considering taking the shirt to my alterations person and having a series of hidden snaps put into each hand pocket to have the openings stay flat. My sleeve length is 34", and I will be having the sleeves altered to about an inch shorter - this is common for me with any brand.

    Nice shirt large fit

Most Arc'teryx stuff is very slimming so was surprised that this fit so large but with the pockets is a weird combo of shirt/jacket. I'm having it tailored to remove the pockets and slim it down a bit because the material is fantastic and as soon as you put it on it's clear the fabric will stand up to alot of abuse.
