    Magnus Coat

When winter storms strike your city, you can either dress like you're headed for the ski resort, or you can stay warm and dry while looking stylish in the Arc'teryx Magnus Coat. This classic parka-style coat looks right at home in urban settings, but is equipped with technical Gore-Tex construction and Coreloft insulation to provide superior warmth and water-resistance when snowstorms bear down.

Two-layer Gore-Tex fabric wards off rain and snow with ease, and it's breathable for comfort when you're strolling down streets. Meanwhile, Coreloft synthetic insulation keeps you toasty while maintaining a lightweight feel and a low-profile look. Its upper-thigh length offers extra coverage while also adding classic parka style. And just for good measure, Arc'teryx also insulated the neck gasket and StormHood to provide a cozy refuge for your head when winds are howling and snow is blowing sideways.

    • Technical coat with casual styling for everyday wear
    • Gore-Tex 2L fabric offers breathable waterproof protection
    • Coreloft synthetic insulation provides warmth with minimal bulk
    • Upper-thigh length provides added coverage and style
    • Lightly insulated neck gasket retains warmth and seals out drafts
    • Insulated StormHood offers cozy refuge for your head
    • Multiple zippered pockets secure everyday items

    Best Coat for Around Town

This is the perfect jacket for waiting for the bus, walking around town or just throwing on over a t-shirt on your way out the door for work. The Gore-Tex membrane gives you comfort knowing you'll never have to be wet and cold and stands up to the elements. I wear this jacket almost every day if it's below 40.

I really wanted to like this jacket. I was looking for a jacket that was not a massive parka and would be a good jacket to wear to work in the city when I travel to NY, Boston and Chicago. This jacket has a very strange fit. I am 6'3", 220lbs, and bought an XL....the shoulders fit, but the body and waist were gigantic, almost reminded me of the jackets that football players wear on the sidelines. It was not slim fitting at all. In addition, Arcteryx could do a couple things to improve on the design. - Make the hood smaller and not sized to fit over a climbing/ski helmet. This isn't a jacket you would try to ride a bicycle while wearing so this shouldn't be a factor for a bike helmet either. - Put a double zipper on the jacket. It goes down to at least mid thigh, but no double zipper to open up the bottom if you are sitting on a bus/train. - Put some sort of cinch cord on the bottom. The jacket would actually look a bit more slender if you could tighten up the bottom like a ski jacket. It is also supposed to be a winter jacket so it makes sense that it may be really windy/cold and that you would want to block that somehow.

    Great city jacket

I am pleasantly surprised by the high quality workmanship of this jacket. This is really an excellent jacket. In windy weather, -5-10 С, under a jacket, a cotton sweatshirt and a T-shirt from a micromodal ... it is warm and comfortable for me. Great minimalist design, exactly what I love.

This is a nice coat, very light weight...I walked a mile in a driving rain storm and did feel the dampness come through a bit, but no wetness on my skin or clothes. It's reliably waterproof in rain or snow. It's warm but I wish it were warmer. I need a sweater or blazer under it to be warm as on wintry days. It's got to be more than 45 F degrees to go out wearing just a shirt, and probably over 50F degrees to go out with just a t-shirt underneath. Also the seam up the front zipper doesn't really fold flush on the coat, which makes it look like the coat is too small, but it really isn't. It's just that the front flap of the coat doesn't fall flush in a neat crease. It sort of curls up a bit, even when the flap is snapped shut . That shouldn't happen.

I love this coat. It's light-weight, not bulky and surprisingly warm even when the temp drops. Material seems very durable yet breathable. Great warm pockets too. For wearing around town in winter climates that stretch between rain/snow (ie NYC to Mid-atlantic) this is pretty perfect. I wouldn't recommend skiing in it due to the length and form fitting nature. I tried other insulated coats and most were annoyingly too stay puft marshmellow-y or not as breathable.

Waterproof and warm in cold weather and light as a feather even though it has some kind of high-tech synthetic fill it in it. I'm short and the sleeves of the L are fine with me. I have no problem with the zippered chest pocket or any pocket. I'm happy And I have to give some credit and even a thank you to the chat and phone sales staff who are knowledgeable and helpful and reasonable.

I really like the look of the coat , materials are excellent , the cons are the sleeve length is a bit long I purchased a size medium I’m 5”8 148 lb. also, the front chest pocket is awkward when you close the zipper you have to extend the pocket with one hand and with the other pull in the zipper, I only keep my phone on there, I think the pocket needs a redesign , other then that the coat rocks .
