These pants are great, super lightweight and dries like a dream. My dad wears them for hiking, fishing and even just going about his every day life. They also seem pretty durable. True to size. I hope they keep making these!

Best hiking pants
I've worn these pants for weeks on end on long thru hikes and they are my go-to for any adventure. Light enough to wear up to 85F and flexible enough for technical terrain and trail running.

Not having a back pockets needs to be mandatory with pants. I never want to wear another pair of pants with back pockets again after trying these on. I say all this even though I purchased a size too small. They are very light/thin so not ideal for winter weather but for warmer weather I would imagine they are awesome!! I also did not like they were a little tight in the crotch area but for some people that may be a plus not a minus. I personally did not like it since i like a roomier/baggier fit.

Overpriced Track Pants
I'm a Arc'teryx fan, but these are over priced track pants. Yes, they are well made but the material is no different than Nike wind pants. These should cost about $65 Fit: The fit on these is baggy straight leg without the drawstring on the ankle. The waist is normal Arc'teryx sizing. If you're looking for loose material with large openings at the bottom that covers your shoes then get these. These fit nothing like the Gamma LT or Sigma. They're very loose.

Favorite climbing pants
I'm tall and somewhat thin and constantly struggle to find hiking/climbing pants with a long enough inseam having a 33" waist. I tried these first in 32x35 and settles on 34x35 - They're the perfect length and the material is great, I've hiked in them on 40 degree days and climbed in them all summer. After one year of lots of climbing, there doesnt seem to be any holes/wear in all the places you'd expect. When they do wear out, I'll be purchasing another pair.

My new favorite pants ever
I can't get enough of these pants, in fact I bought ArcTeryx shorts that are similar because I wanted to have the same functionality in shorts as well. I absolutely love how durable/comfortable/breathable these pants are. They also bead water off effectively. The integrated belt makes keeping them snug easy, and the zippered pocket keeps my belongings nice and secure. These are the first pair of pants I've worn that don't have back pockets, and WOW what have I been doing my entire life? They're insanely comfortable. I may have to buy a few more to stock up on these. 11/10

I'm a cynical person who suspects all reviews and expects most things I order to disappoint. These pants have exceeded expectations! First impression is that they feel super light, like you are barely wearing anything. They are as thin and cool as can be for long pants; I prefer shorts for long walks and hikes (I live in a warm place), but if I must wear pants to avoid being bitten by bugs or because I want a tiny bit more warmth, these have been perfect for it. I would just caution that the cut is athletic/slim; now I would say this is a big PLUS because they just look great, I'm just not sure if they would be perfect for a more shall we say rotund shape, but they're also stretchy so maybe they are.

I'm a tall, lean guy, so finding pants long enough for my waist size is always tough. These pants fit perfectly at the waist and are plenty long in the leg. The material is stretchy, breathable, and durable. For summer hiking, I haven't found a better pant.

My go to pants.
I own 2 pairs of these pants. Great fit and comfortable in most temps. I have had an issue with the belt twisting up in the washing machine as mentioned by another reviewer, even on delicate cycle. Easy to undo, but a pain sometimes. Still, I love the pants. I live in 120-degree temps... I typically run warm but need good sun protection to keep those pesky skin cancers from starting up and everyone knows the best defense against UV is clothing/barrier protection. I have worn them on 105 degree days for hikes, probably the best pants I have worn in regards to staying somewhat cool. I have tried the Kuhl kontra air pants and prana zion convertibles as well. The Lefroys get a bit toasty around the belt area, the pranas are loose fitting but warmer unless you convert to shorts, the Kulhs aren't too bad at all but durability when running into a cactus could be an issue, and there aren't as easy to keep clean as the Lefroys . I would say given then a shot. They are expensive, but you will definitely find a use for them.

Finally! A long inseam!!!
I got these as a gift for my boyfriend. He is quite a skinny, tall drink of water. He has a really hard time finding pants that fit him right. He's 6' 4", about 175 lbs. I got him the 32x35. They fit super well, considering his stature. I don't actually think they are a true 35" inseam though... the hem barely hit the top of his feet. The built in belt was his favorite feature. It secures the pants nicely, and he doesn't need to wear a belt that usually tend to weigh down. I got him the "Tempest" color. Online they look like they are black, so I wasn't sure what color they actually are... tempest is basically a super dark blue. These pants are lightweight, stretchy and durable for so many uses.

Great Material, Fit, Details
The fit won me over right off the bat, which seems to happen with every Arcteryx article of clothing I own. They are close fitting at the waist & hips, and loosen a bit at the knees. The crotch is a stretchy material and the knees are articulated/cut such that these pants offer unlimited movement with zero binding. In this aspect, these are the best hiking/active pants I've ever worn. Additionally, the material is fairly breathable, very stretchy, and really lightweight. As far as durability; I'm hoping they'll handle abrasion on rocks, catching on thorns, etc but I have yet to put them to that kind of use. I purchased a 32x32 and I'm 6' tall, 155lb, 32" inseam. I have relatively slender legs & butt, but these things fit a little tight in the rear. This is intentional from the way Arcteryx describes the fit and from online images I've seen. I wish they were an inch shorter. I've been air drying them to avoid any loud buckle-related shenanigans in the dryer.

AMAZING EVERYDAY PANTS!
Extremely light, breathable and comfortable. I was lucky enough to snag every color, that's how much I enjoy these pants. They aren't that noisy at all which is another reason why I really like these pants.

WHO: I’m 5’10” 170lbs, 31” waist 32” inseam, Athletic build, living in the Southeast of the US with relatively mild winters, but I travel a lot. I’m kind of a gear-head and all my pants, even the ones I wear to work, can be described as tactical. I got a size 32 in these and I’ve had them just over a year. WHAT: In a word, stretchy. This is a technical pant that you can wear casually or for travel. It’s great in warm climates and can stand up to heavy use like tough hiking scrambles or climbing. The great cut and stretchy material of these pants moves with you. WHEN: For where I live these are year round pants on all but the coldest winter days. They’ve become my go-to pants for cooler weather activities. And they’re always in my bag when I’m on the road. WHERE: Hiking, traveling, casual Fridays at work, pretty much anything active. WHY: They’re the funnest pants I own. I even have the shorts version. STYLE: If you like the look of a technical pant then you’ll love these just as much as I do. They have a clean look that can be worn casually but stand out enough that you can tell these aren't just a normal pair of pants. FUNCTION: All the technical stuff: gusseted crotch, articulated knees, quick drying, water resistant and durable. Nothing is unnecessary on these, there’s no belt loops and only 3 pockets (none in the back, one zippered right thigh). There is a built-in belt that works well while wearing the pants but is not so good in my dryer. The belt (on both the pants and shorts) has gotten caught several times and twisted-up the whole load. Both of my buckles are bent slightly, not sure if it's just my dryer but I’ve had to start air drying these. 9 out of 10 A great fit that doesn’t shrink, a cool material that moves and stretches with you, just a little improvement on the belt buckle and they’d be perfect.

Try turning them inside out for drying, I would think that would stop the belt catching.

Hi Edward, thanks for the review. I hike mostly in the desert - are these light and breathe-able enough for the hot temps of the desert, in your opinion? (Or anyone else that has used these pants in hot, dry conditions). I don't have the option of trying a pair before a purchase....thanks!

Great review Edward. I own 2 pairs of these pants. Great fit and comfortable in most temps. Stellar material. Very breathable, stretchy, and water resistant. Best pair of pants I've had for the summer. The DWR coating works incredibly well. Better than Frjallraven's G1000, even after waxing it. Great pockets, especially because of the stretch fabric. The only thing I would change is using belt loops instead of the attached one. The one attached works great, but I would rather wear my own belt. And honestly, its just an incredibly comfortable pair of pants.
April 4, 2017
I guess they've made the belt integral to stop it digging in if wearing a heavy pack?

arcteryx never let you down
nice fit, not bulk, good material, very comfortable.. ture to size. totally worth the price.

Arc'teryx Lefroy Pant - Men's
May 11, 2018
Will these loosen up at all with wear? I have a 31” waist, ordered the 32x32. The waist is fine but my gluteus are taking up most of the allotted buttock room. Should I put them on and do a bunch of squat jumps to stretch them? :)
April 20, 2017
Do you have the exact measurements of the waist and inseam on the 32x35?
April 2, 2017
Is Tempest black or Blue? I can't tell.
March 28, 2016
Any chance these will be available with a longer inseam? At 6'4" it sure does make finding technical pants that are long enough difficult....

Hey Dave - We are not stocking the Lefroy Pants in the 35" inseam length but check out the Arc'teryx Palisade Pants (Item #ARC00G7) as a viable alternative. Feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions. - Kyle L. - Expert Gearhead
