You know all the best secrets when it comes to dressing for the wall, and one of them is laced to your feet. The Women's Arc'teryx Konseal FL GTX Approach Shoe is designed to be comfortable over longer distances than the Acrux SL, and with more support for carrying mid-weight loads. In this way the Konseal takes a balanced approach (no pun intended), yet still leans towards being fast and light. While the tread at the toe contains good surface area for friction on slick rock, the heal break is designed for descending on gravel after the climb. Stability in the EVA midsole is enhanced by plastic chassis that comes in handy if you're climbing and standing on webbing or rope, and the TPU overlay around your toe protects from rocks and assists with edging.
- Approach shoe that offers moderate support with lightweight design
- Seamless uppers provide dirt-shedding abrasion resistance
- Lug design on sole blends approach with on-trail performance
- Plastic chassis added to cushioned midsole for additional support
- Synthetic overlay at toe protects your foot from rock impacts
- Lacing system adapts according to comfort and precision preferences
- Arc'teryx designs performance gear with simple, well-made detailing

like em so far
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I got these shoes recently and I've been really enjoying them so far! I've only worn them out on the town and on a few short winter hikes, but they're super comfortable and have great grip (I'm sure this will become more apparent once I'm going some more approaches and scrambling across granite later this season). It's important to note that Arc'teryx shoes have a different sizing than what you're probably used to, so be sure to check the sizing chart before buying!! For example, I normally wear an 8 in street shoes, but I need a 7.5 in these.
I'll update later on when I have some good approaches in with these, but for so far -- I'm a fan.

These are awesome approach shoes that are very versatile! I have worn them around town in the snow, taking my dog to the dog park in the winter and in Moab on approaches to climbs. They perform well in both situations, the gore-tex makes sure that my feet never got wet which is so important in the winter, the bottoms are also pretty grippy and I have not slipped while wearing them (might have been a little luck too haha). In Moab they were awesome for approaches, they are comfortable and breathable. I also feel very stable in these shoes, they have a lot of support. I look forward to putting them even more to the test once spring/summer comes! Will try to update in a couple months with a picture and more info after I use them more! The only thing that does not make this a 5 star shoe for me is that they run a tad big. I am a solid size 6 in all shoes, I have a size 6 in these and wish they came in a 5.5 because I do have to wear thicker socks for them to fit well. They are also a bit on the narrow side but work, my feet are not super wide or anything I would just compare the narrow fit to Salomon shoes which also tend to run on the narrow side. Definitely recommend these shoes, just size half size down!
