Terrible construction and quality, no serious runner would take these shoes for real. Hurt my ankles really bad in a short, flat trail that I did to break them in. Don't buy it no matter the discount.

Have only worn them on two hikes roughly 11-12 miles each. The traction is amazing on wet rock. I noticed the toe rand had separated from the upper halfway through my last hike, which shouldn't happen after 17 ish total miles on the shoes. Disappointing, there are many other offerings with the same Vibram Megagrip rubber.

I love this shoe. Hiking, scrambling, and hairy approaches feel so secure in these shoes I found that there is a short break-in period, but they’ve become my most worn shoes when heading off into the woods. The’ve even replaced my Camp Fours in all but nastiest of scree and talus. They stick like glue, stay comfortable all day, dry out quickly after drenching in the creek by accident. The one star I held back was the slight de lamination on the toe box. I’m still wearing them, and will get another set as long as they don’t fall apart. These shoes are amazing!

Poorly Constructed
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
On just my second hike, the rubber toe cap started separating from the upper part of the shoe. I am in contact with Arc'Teryx now to see if they will at least partially refund me for an outrageously priced shoe for the quality. Terribly disappointing that a company once known for making high-quality gear is letting it slip.

I'm extremely picky about the shoes I buy, and I tried on every Approach shoe I could get my hands on before settling in these, they fit my foot like a glove. After using them exactly how Arc'teryx intended, to approach alpine climbs, they began blowing out on the sides and delaminating after only a couple months of use, weekends only. I sent them to Arc'teryx for a warranty replacement and they refused to honor it, telling me "they seemed to be used for more of an intense use." I reiterated several times in greater detail how they were used, and they changed their story for why they couldn't honor it each time.

In less than a month of owning them the rubber toe portion is starting to separate from the shoe. These are comfortable great looking shoes, but i had to return them. There is no question the separation will get worse.

I wear these shoes around town, to work hiking etc. so they are worn more than average. They are very comfortable and the fit and style is very nice. But after owning them just a couple months the rubber at the toes is starting to peel away from the top of the shoe. Disappointed... Bc.com will not replace or exchange so hopefully Arteryx will.

The most comfortable trail shoe I have ever worn. Great minimal design, this shoe feels very sturdy and warm but not hot.

Excellent grip, support, durability
TBH I canât remember if I got them at Backcountry or direct at the Arcteryx store, but I just saw them here so wanted to review. Broke them in around town, which was easy, then took them hiking. First hike with them was up Mt Whitney on the Mountaineers route. They were awesome. Grippy, solid, lightweight, just awesome. Will buy again when they wear out a little more. Canât remember if I had to try a couple sizes to get the right fit - probably did because I usually do - they are a little narrow for my taste but not bad - Iâm normally very picky about that and wonât wear anything too narrow so I may have even used a show widener on them while breaking them in. Anyway, at this stage they are awesome and as I said will buy again.

Tried Scarp Crux, Vasque Grand Traverse, Mammut, La Sportiva TX2, La Sportiva TX3, Salewa Firetail GTX and found blisters, sore arches and metacarpal issues with shanks scattered through the lot. Weirdly enough my EU 40 feet fit nicely into the Konseals yet when I laced them up and strolled about the house or layed about with them on they felt tight . I decided to go for broke and did a few miles in them with lots of stairs and slopes up and down. You know what? NO PAIN. NONE. No hotspots, no arch pain, no shank pain. None. They are easy to walk in. I forget they are on my feet and are not tight at all when hiking -- but seem tight once I am at rest so I simply loosen them in camp and they are now my shoe of choice.

I love Arc'teryx. The few pieces of their gear that I have I really love. These shoes though are a huge miss for me. The shoe felt stiff and unforgiving right out of the box and not in a good way like a new pair of boots. Just wearing them around the house they were causing me pain across the top of my feet right behind the toes. As all things Arc'Teryx these are clearly well made and built to last but don't live up to all their own marketing and description. Worst part is Backcountry charges you to return them unlike many other online retailers. So overall disappointing experience from 2 companies I really like.

Agree totally! They are poorly constructed. It's a shame Arc'Teryx's quality has gone down the tubes.
