    Konseal Hooded Fleece Pullover

Climbing rule #1: check your knots. Climbing rule #2: trust your partner. Climbing rule #3: wear the Arc'teryx Konseal 1/2-Zip Men's Fleece Pullover when the weather's cold. Designed with vertical endeavors in mind, the Konseal is a trim-fitting Polartec Power Stretch jacket with durable and water-repellent Hardface technology that allows it to function as an outer layer for ice climbing or damp rock ascents, or an inner insulation piece when the temps go full-on arctic. Hardface is also smooth and tough, the better to resist rips and tears from rocks and ice tools.

As you might expect, the Konseal has a secret: an integrated Phasic AR panel that nestles inside the hood and serves as a balaclava when the hood is raised, or as a neck gaiter if it isn't. Phasic wicks moisture and fights odor, so the panel won't turn soggy and stinky when you spend a day breathing into it, and provides light insulation so your mustache doesn't end up frozen to your lips. Thumbholes keep your sleeves where they belong, and the zippered chest pocket stays accessible when you're wearing a harness or pack. If your climbing is likely to get cold, the Konseal is a surefire bet to keep you sending.

    • Stretchy, warm, and weather-resistant fleece for climbing
    • Polartec fleece and Phasic material resists water and wicks
    • Regular fit has room for a tee underneath
    • Integrated thumbholes help cinch out nasty weather
    • Odor-resistance fights the funk
    • Hidden panel acts as balaclava when hood is up

    Perfect layer piece!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 6'2"
    • Weight: 180lbs

Hands down the best active fleece layer I've ever used.

The fit is consistent with Arc'teryx for athletic fit while the extra length in the arms and body mean us tall guys can actually use the thumb holes.

As others have stated its very breathable but once its under a shell it keeps me nice and warm.

These layer is great for all sports I've thrown at it from mountain biking, alpine climbing, skiing, ice climbing and camping in the desert.

    Perfect layer piece!

    Love this top

This top breathes incredibly well. It doesn't offer much wind resistance but for temps as low as 20 degrees with minimal wind, it is my go to top. I also love wearing it around when I am not running. It just is extremely comfortable. It is very athletic cut and fits true to size. I am 5'11 and a large fits me great

    perfect for what I needed

Pretty much everything I needed. Breathable, wicking, warm layer with a hood to wear hiking. It's similar to the R1 hoody in fit and features although the R1 is longer. This fits tight over a base layer and it's easy to layer over but you aren't getting more than one shirt under it unless you size up. The arms are nice and long. The balaclava? idk yet, haven't needed it yet. It does sort of get in the way when you are grabbing the hood to pull on.

    pretty sweet

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: True to size

bought this jacket on accident, i was actually looking for the jacket without the hood. cool features, the balaclava is a nice addition and it has a good fit for my body size. 5'9, 140 and built upper-body, I went with the L but ended up returning it and up going for the Patagonia R1.

    Solid baselayer

Preforms well, stays dry and keeps you warm. The hood/balaclava is an awesome feature and will fit well under a beanie or helmet.

its to short. the hardface doesn't last. after only a few wears it started to get fuzzy in areas. it doesn't seem any warmer than my patagonia 4 exposition. i should have got the arc'teryx fortrez. LOVE the hood, mask and weight. not worth the money.

    "Hey good look'n"

The Arcteryx Konseal is a great hardfleece with all the trimmings: an athletic fit, thumbholes, warm hood with integrated balaclava, chest zip, and durable outer. It is a very practical fleece that can take a beating, but it also looks incredibly good when layered over a baselayer.

My only possible complaint about the Konseal is how light its fleece fleece lining. This does make it good an light for more aerobic activity, but it doesn't have near as much warmth as a Patagonia R1.

An excellent piece that will become a solid cornerstone of your outdoor wardrobe.

Best hood and toughest fleece out there

Definitely a new favorite piece, even over the R1. I'm 6'3", 180 and the large fits me perfect. A little longer cut (3 inches) to fit under the harness even better is my only complaint.

Pretty much the same warmth as the R1 and any other technical fleece. Definitely less warm than the Fortrez. It has the same Arc' half baclava hood with ninja facemask as the Fortrez.

Main advantage over most fleece is the finish on the fabric. The Konseal is not as soft and comfy as a normal fleece (it's pretty scratchy), but in exchange it's more durable. This is the kind of piece I could see lasting years of off-widths, bushwacking, etc.
