    Stow and go.

Summer trail runs or quick-paced hikes are usually a low-gear affair, but when a light shower blows in or the wind picks up, the Arc'teryx Men's Incendo Hooded Jacket is a great piece to have clipped to your hydration belt. Its nylon face is treated with a DWR to keep surprise weather from cutting your run short, while the Dot Air Mesh vents under the arms provide stretchy mobility and keep you from overheating during a warm rain. Maximum venting can be achieved by utilizing the single below-chin snap and keeping the zipper open, and the hood can easily be folded down and snapped tight if it's just a little wind you're worried about.

    • Lightweight jacket for on-the-trail weather resistance
    • Softshell face fabric sheds light wind and rain
    • Dot Air Mesh vents at underarms keep you from overheating
    • Snap at hood for tucking it away during blue bird days
    • Slim fit offers minimum bulk while setting a quick pace
    • Arc'teryx takes a simplistic, less-is-more approach to its gear
    • Item #ARC00SD

    Wind Killer

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 142lbs

To give a basis for this review, I originally used this as shell for colder weather running. I wear a long-sleeve base layer and then the Incendo over it. With just this baselayer /Incendo combo I can run in the windy temps as low as 40 degrees and feel comfortable. Why? Any sharpness that is always brought with cold wind was cut out, while at the same time allowing me to dump the heat I was producing while running. While definitely not your insulator in cold weather, it cuts down on that sharpness of wind/cold that prevents you from continuing whatever activity you are doing.

As this has become one of my favorite shells, I have also used it nordic skiing and biking. Essentially anytime I am going to be doing a high-output activity I always default to this shell.

Sizing: I am 5'9'' 142lbs and I am wearing a medium in the picture. I could definitely go with a small, but with the slim nature of the shell I am still perfectly happy with my medium., as I have slightly broader shoulders.

    Wind Killer

    Much thinner than I thought.

I bought this for my husband for an upcoming trip to a place that has a lot of rain. I knew this was going to be lightweight, but it is extremely thin. It still does the job, but you definetly need to layer under it.

      Not for some tall guys

      • Fit: Runs small
      • Size Bought: XL
      • Height: 6'5"
      • Weight: 215lbs

I have a bunch of pieces like this from Dynafit that are perfect in size (sleeve length, torso) in XL. The sleeves on this are too short. Torso is on the border.

      Unanswered Question

Does this really have 2 zippered hand pockets? It doesn't seem like it does.
