These pants have been a lifesaver. I took them out on a very cold 7 degree night with high winds and was extremely pleased and excited to discover I was completely warm! The inside is insulated with a soft polyester lining that acted like a thermal base layer and the outer shell created a wind barrier that really worked. The fabric is stretchy and extremely comfortable, Iv'e found myself wearing these pants not only in extreme conditions but around the house. These pants are also great for snowy days out on the town or up in the mountains as they are water resistant. I am 5'6 and have been wearing a size 4 in these pants, I think they are the perfect fit, having the internal belt feature is great for adjusting. My favorite features has to be the amount of pockets and cinching ankle bands. All in all I love this pant and would highly recommend!:)

I love the Gamma line of Arcteryx pants and wear a size 10 in the FL and AR versions (both bought within the last two months). The size 10 in the Gamma MX was much larger: at least 1 inch all around through hips and legs. Even with a wool baselayer under it, it was loose. I'm exchanging for a size 8 to see how that works. I have an athletic build with larger hips and thighs; the belt lets you cinch in the waist. FYI the main differences (other than the fit) of the three is the weight of the fabric. The LT is very lightweight, the AR is unbacked softshell material, and the MX has a slightly thicker softshell material with a brushed interior surface that adds warmth. The MX also has much larger thigh pockets, more like cargo pockets.

I bought these for warmer ski touring days, and could not be more stoked about them. They have made longer tours 100 times more comfortable this spring. The pants stretch and move very easily as you move, keep you warm when stopped, but are plenty breathable while on the move. I wear a size 4, which is slimmer fitting than other pants around the hips area, but still has a little room.

Okay, so I grew up in southern AZ where snow is minimal and winter is really just more windy and it rains a lot. When I started to venture to the mountains, I found the out really quick how ESSENTIAL it is to have proper gear. I never imagined as a kid that I would be playing in the mountains during a snowstorm, or summiting some of the of the taller peaks in my backyard just for the view. Snow or shine, these pants helped me get there. Yeah they are a bit of a sticker shock $$, but truly, the pockets are big, the warmth is just enough with some incredible breathability and the fit was surprisingly mobile! I did feel that the size 4 were a little short for me at 5'10 but my gaiters helped me out there a little. A must have to stay warm and dry.

The Gamma MX are AMAZING! Bit expensive, but worth every penny. I wore these as a softshell for skiing. Putting them through plenty of powder, and stayed completely dry! It has a light insulation, so I was able to stay warm. But still breathable so I was never overheating. It fits true to size. Weather you are backcountry skiing, ice climbing, hiking, trekking, these pants will be able to hold up to the challenge! Wish I had them seasons ago, because they really are life changing.

The Gamma MX is the warmest softshell pant offering from Arc'teryx, and they're absolutely PERFECT for just about everything. They're in their element on alpine climbs, ski mountaineering missions, and anywhere else you might encounter unpredictable weather. They're warm without making you over heat, breathable, and durable enough to protect you from both weather and obstacles that might try to get in your way. These are my go-to pants for ski tours, ice climbs, and long, chilly days in the alpine. If you have any questions about Arc'teryx gear, feel free to reach out! I'm their ambassador here in the office, and I'm always happy to chat about anything and everything Arc'teryx.

I wore these pants day after day while hiking Mt. Elbrus in Russia and these pants kept me cozy warm each day - white outs, heavy snow and freezing conditions. These are the best of the best. I was able to add a pair of compression pants when I felt it necessary and they allow for this. I am 5'6" and 119 lbs. I purchased a size 4 and they are perfect. I have also worn these on trails in CO and Utah for day hikes and they hold up amazingly - even when climbing. I love the protection from my crampons or spikes on the inside of the pant leg. I am in love and know these will be my forever favorite pants for cold conditions.

I am wondering what the rise is on these from the top of the leg inseam to the top of the zipper (crotch area). I'm 5'6" 135 and am a "curvy" fit in most pants. I struggle to find gear that goes high enough on my waist. Thanks!
