I bought this jacket as a layering piece for a mountaineering course and future climbing endeavors. It ended up being one of my favorite pieces and perfect for keeping me dry when in the snow and breathable enough to regulate body temperature during high output pushes. Great quality and know it will hold up for the long run.

Great for layering!
- Familiarity:
- I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
Mix this with a fleece underneath and this combo will handle most of the winter. This jacket is great by itself for spring and fall. It isnt too heavy which was what I was looking for as a gift.

The Gamma LT is perfect for shoulder season climbs and alpine hikes due to its light weight and weather resistance. The Burly Double Weave construction provides a touch of warmth, while the DWR coating ensures that you'll stay dry when those afternoon storms roll in on your descent. The helmet-compatible hood is awesome for chilly belay stations, and the regular fit allows for light layering underneath without feeling constricted. If you spend time in the mountains, this softshell is for you. If you have any questions about Arc'teryx gear, feel free to reach out! I'm their ambassador here in the office, and I'm always happy to chat about anything and everything Arc'teryx.

Just bought this jacket in the purple color, and it's my new favorite piece of clothing! It's quite warm as an around-town outer layer over a fleece and vest in Colorado (great wind protection). Planning to use it snow shoeing and (on warmer days) skiing. It's comfortable, moves well, and is very breathable. Love the color!! Flattering cut. It's one of the more moderately priced Arcteryx jackets, and it actually looks and feels like it could cost more!

I've had this jacket for about five years and it's without a doubt one of the best purchases I've made on this site. I was initially afraid the fabric would be too thin, but it's perfect. Protective enough for cold windy days (with a puffy underneath, of course) but incredibly breathable on runs or during other aerobic activity. Whatever the occasion, this jacket just seems to work. And after five years of constant wear and plenty of washings, it still looks great! It may be on the more expensive side, but you get what you pay for.

My girlfriend is the same height and weight as you and was wondering if a medium would have worked for you? Thanks, Erick
