    For mountain lovers.

Arc'teryx designed its Women's Fortrez Hooded Fleece Jacket for adventure enthusiasts who just won't get off the mountain, no matter the conditions or time of day. The Polartec Power Stretch Hardface fabric is not only water-and-abrasion-resistant, but it's also highly breathable and quick-drying. The ScubaHood slides under helmets with ease, while the Phasic AR panel acts as a gaiter or balaclava for added, wind-resistant protection. This slim-fitting fleece also features articulated elbows, no-lift gusseted underarms, and a drop-tail hem for excellent coverage that stays in place whether you're cruising up a trail or climbing desert towers. Not to mention, the laminated sleeve pocket protects your electronics from light precipitation.

New go to fleece for hiking

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 5'7"
    • Weight: 152lbs

I wore this jacket to hike Mt. Democrat, a 14er in Colorado. It was gloomy and windy for parts of the hike, so I had packed a shell as a backup in case the fleece didn't provide enough protection. I was surprised that I didn't have to wear the shell until we got to the summit. The fleece was warm enough and it blocked the wind perfectly, plus the built in balaclava was very handy to put on and take off throughout the hike.

This is a solid piece to include in your wardrobe. So versatile, I wear it hiking when it's cooler out, as a mid-layer under a shell for winter activities, at home for coziness and on and on.
It does an excellent job of regulating body warmth and provides great wind resistance. I find that it does it's job as a great mid-layer and provides a lot of warmth when a down mid-layer is just too much yet it's not a super thick piece. I have worn this so many times and in all sorts of terrain and temps and the thing still looks brand new.

The fit is great, hits lower hip and the sleeves are long enough to keep me extra happy. I have the nighthawk color. Oh and the balaclava inset is awesome for when you want to be a ninja.

    Definitely recommend this item.

    I am a fan :)

only semi-complaint is: The forearms are just a wee too tight. I'm speculating that similar to my atom cuffs, they'll stretch-out just perfectly within three months of hard use.
nice longer inseam length. It used to vex me for so long that arcteryx consistently produced (obnoxiously) short length in women's tops.

I'm 5'9" 130ish and broad shouldered... the small fits great.

I love the Tamarillo red color, and the Phasic AR panel.

Great athletic fit, range of motion, and breathable and resilient fabric.

per usual with arcteryx jackets, it's remained looking spanking new after heavy use.
