    Impressive warmth, minimal weight.

Whether you're climbing snow-capped volcanoes in the Pacific Northwest or backcountry skiing along the Chic Choc Mountains of Quebec, the Arc'teryx Men's Firebee AR Down Parka keeps you comfortable during cold-weather activities with its high-loft insulation, lightweight construction, and weather-resistant protection. Using Gore's newest Thermium membrane, the Firebee AR Down Parka sheds oncoming rain and snow showers while completely blocking out oncoming wind and preventing it from stealing precious body heat. Perhaps most impressive for fast-moving athletes, the Thermium membrane is fully breathable when you're moving fast up mountains or pushing demanding routes of rock and ice.

Filled with 8-ounces of 850-fill European grey goose down, the Firebee AR Down Parka keeps you pleasantly warm in sub-freezing temperatures, without holding you back with excess bulk on light-and-fast adventures. The pleat-constructed liner separates the goose down from the outer shell, preventing oncoming rain, sleet, and snow from compromising the its heat-trapping loft. And to seal out raging winds and oncoming snow, the StormHood cinches over your hat or helmet with its integrated Coheasive adjustments.

    Incredible down jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 6'1"
    • Weight: 195lbs

This jacket is everything that I wanted it to be: incredibly warm, lightweight, packable, and great looking. I'll start off with the sizing... I spent a lot of time looking for reviews on this jacket specifically to figure out what size I needed. I have fairly broad shoulders and a 34" waist, am 6' 1" (185cm) 195 pounds (88kg) and the large fits me perfectly. I was tempted to get a medium through looking at the Arcteryx specs as well as the 6' model wearing a medium in their youtube vid, but large was the perfect choice. Like another reviewer has said, this jacket is extremely lofty... one of the loftiest I've ever owned, but it packs down into a very small bag which is attached inside the inner zip pocket. It's amazing how small it gets, but when you unpack, it lofts back up in no time. The hood also has a ton of down in it, is extremely warm and comfortable, and easily fits a climbing helmet. I haven't yet worn this in heavy rain, so I can't completely speak for the water resistance, but water did bead off well in light rain. What's remarkable is how well this thing holds the air/loft in the down. It has segmented down pockets to prevent it from moving around. It has a certain level of air tightness, which results in the air being expelled more slowly than you'd expect when you squeeze it. This helps immensely in maintaining the loft volume and warmth of the jacket. I've worn this in double-digit subzero temperatures and was warm with just a t-shirt on underneath. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for the ultimate down jacket. I bought this in the vermillion color and am very happy with it... a unique burnt orange color that stands out, but not excessively.

    Great Parka

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: XL
    • Height: 6'6"
    • Weight: 250lbs

For its volume, this Parka is very lightweight. I've only worn this in temperatures down to the single digits (F) and it has kept me very warm. I have had nothing but positive comments about this item from others including one individual that indicated that he'd buy one immediately. Arc'teryx makes great products - highly recommended.

Good but careful of the size

    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: m
    • Height: 6'1"
    • Weight: 175lbs

I really wanted to love this jacket. I already own a Ceres and Cerium SV and wanted something in between with better wet weather protection. I've never bought anything other than medium in arcteryx so was surprised that this is a wierd cut - very tight in my shoulders and a touch short in the arms. And I'm skinny with fairly broad shoulders. Cannot lift my binoculars up without it pulling on back of shoulders, which is a deal breaker in my line of work. Guess I'll try the Large but fear it will be too baggy in the torso.... (PS. Jacket is awesome otherwise)

UPDATE _ Got the large. It's better, but this thing is so damn lofty i still can't move my arms. I mean, it makes the Ceres feel like a shell. There's like the down of million ducks in here. It's just too much. Obviously it's warm as hell (literally) but i think the mobility issue is going to be too much.

    Very Warm Jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 150lbs

Pro : Kept me warm to the point that I thought winter was summer

Con : I look ridiculously fat in this jacket
