Had other expectations
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: M
- Height: 6'0"
- Weight: 140lbs
I own the Codetta shell which I absolutely love. I wanted to get this jacket to wear on its own or even under the shell. I thought it was going to have the same fit as the Codetta, but it is a bit off in certain areas.
It isn't as tailored through the body and it is a stiffer fabric, so it will hold the shape that it was designed to have. I feel like they really should bring it in through the body. The sleeves aren't as long as they are on the Codetta either, but the length of the jacket is a tad longer.
I have had issues with Arcteryx before where the colors in the photos aren't the same as they are in person. I went out on a limb to see how the Mica Heather color would turn out. I wondered how grey it would actually be. It is more of a creamy, off whiteish grey if that makes sense...
I am a true medium in Arcteryx and didn't feel like a small would correct what I didn't like. A beautiful jacket, that just didn't fit my body as I had hoped.
My measurements for reference are:
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit: Runs large
- Size Bought: medium
- Height: 5'8"
- Weight: 135lbs
This color wasn't what I was expecting, but I actually like it better. The coat is warm and looks really sharp, with it's clean lines. It will show up with creases, but those will fade.
For the sizing, I could do a small, but I wouldn't be able to wear a sweater under it. So, if you need to layer, get your true size. If you need a more fitted jacket with minimal layering, then you could likely size down, if you are on the cusp. I am 5'8, 135 lbs.
