The Best Fleece I've Ever Owned

Something about me. I enjoy a good fleece. I've had many a fleece through my life, and I like to wear them virtually all the time, regardless the season or if I'm indoors or outdoors. After doing some research on the web with regards to fleeces, as is my passion, Arc'teryx's Covert Cardigan came up quite a bit. I decide to treat myself, bite the bullet on Arc'teryx's Apple-esque tax, and pay up for this fleece. I have no regrets. This is, by far, my favorite fleece. The interior of the fleece is nice, warm, and cuddly like a blanket without being incredibly thick or irritating my skin. It fits perfectly on me, my fat gut and all, and I like the look of the Cinder Heather color. Very neutral. It does a great job of keeping me warm, like I said, and the pockets keep my hands warm as well and is a place I want them to be. I like how it is able to do this, without being incredibly thick and heavy. I've used it on several mornings in the woods during backpacking trips. Unlike others, I've washed it multiple times, BY ITSELF because Arc'teryx wouldn't have it besmirched by other inferior garments, also because it's the most expensive piece of clothing I own and I want to take extremely good care of it, but I haven't had the pilling issue that others have had with this fleece. It's held up incredibly well. The oddity about it is the tiny pocket on the left arm. I can't figure out as to why it exists. It is in an incredibly inconvenient place if you want to zip it up, and I generally have to have some else zip it up if I'm stuffing something in it, but if want something accessible to you right away, I guess you have the pocket there. Arc'teryx's pricing of their garments is, well, viciously high, but you do get the best quality for the price, and this fleece is an example of that. I don't think I'll ever have a better fleece, and I can feel incredibly snobbish and make a statement while wearing this fleece, because that's what matters. Being incredibly insecure and telling everyone indirectly that your better than them. That's what it means to wear Arc'teryx. Seriously, this is way too expensive for clothing.

I was looking for a nice technical jacket (or inner) for both business and outdoor purposes; however, this is not the Polartec jacket I was hoping for. It looks good when traveling, but it won't be as technical as most of the other alternative jackets.

This has become my go to jacket. The materials are of high quality. This is my first product from the brand and I’m very impressed. The jacket keeps me pretty warm even though it’s lighter than my outgoing jacket. I wear this 30-45F in Minnesotan winters. I got this sale - can’t beat the price for this kind of quality. Highly recommend.

i purchase it from backcountry they have a very good costumer service and very quality products i bought this arcteryx cartigan sweater and it is very high quality one, have two layersall over the chest also very comfortable fleece and arcteryx call it "alpenex heathered fleece" also iside the pockets there is two layers and it is very warm inside if you put your hands (my hands gets cold very fast in winter and this pockets warm my hands very well i realy suprised). fits to winter, i wear it in 6-7 degrees (cel) without coat and with strong wind and it was perfect, my arms and chest was very warm while my legs was very cold that shows that this sweater does the job very well, also very nice sweater, it is my first time with arcteryx and i(i bought marmot columbia the north face and mountain hardwear) will continue with them and with backcountry, i also i bought another one in XL size because i like the sweater wide near my arms thank you arcteryx and thank you backcountry

Very nice sweater like fleece comparable to the better sweater. Fit is a little slimmer like most arcteryx. Sleeves run a little long for me. Overall great fleece and a keeper. I prefer for around 55 degrees give or take 5.

A less technical Arc'teryx fleece which is great for staying warm around town or around the house. Looks sharp for a night out and features the typically high quality Arc'teryx build. I was a bit worried about sizing since it's advertised as a more relaxed fit. I'm a thin runner/climber build at 6'1", 150 lbs and the medium is a perfect fit. Not baggy at all and the body and sleeves are the right length.

We purchased this for my father in law for Christmas who loves really anything Arc'teryx and really how can't you! They make great quality items that last for years and look great as well. He's a typical XL which is what we got him and worked great. He's around 6'2" and 200 to give you an idea. A really nice layering piece that is very warm.

Grabbed the covert cardigan on sale and have worn it only a couple of times but I am loving it so far. The piece is not only extremely good at regulating heat (not too warm/cold), but looks incredibly stylish. Love the minimal branding on the clothing. Has a nice fleece interior, but has a nicer texture on the exterior of the jacket. Wore this with a long sleeve shirt and a Beta SL while it was just below freezing temps and felt perfectly comfortable.

If my wallet could handle it I would buy everything Arcteryx, but I digress. I was looking for a new sweater to wear for fall and early winter. I always overheat when I'm wearing fleece or jackets of any kind once the temperature gets above 50. I took a chance on this and it has been perfect. Kept me warm at 4am when it was cold out and didn't start to really heat up until noon when the temperature rose above 60 degrees in direct sunlight. I'm hard on the stuff I own, where other companies clothing would get snags or pill in certain spots, I have yet to see any signs of wear on this yet. I was looking for something a little more form fitting, so that is the only complaint I have, however my shoulders and chest don't typically allow for me to where a medium in anything. By no means does it run large, it's just more of a relaxed fit design. So if I have any issue, its with my own body!

This is a great looking jacket, just what I would expect from Arcteryx. I bought it for my boyfriend who needed something that would look good in the office and while we're out at dinner, but would also be practical for fishing/hiking. This is exactly what he was looking for! The seaming on it is fantastic and provides structure, so it never looks frumpy. The fabric is soft and comfortable. I bought it in the Moss Green color which is beautiful. However, it does look different in various lighting. For example, in white florescent lights it looks as it does in the picture that is advertised. In yellow or dim lighting it looks almost brown. I got it for him in an XL (his usual size) which fit well. He is 6'5 and 230 pounds & very athletic build.

A great piece by Arcteryx. Fits true to size although Arcteryx comes a bit slimmer than other brands. Warm, cozy and looks great. A really versatile piece as well

Had to buy another since the previous one got stolen (who ever has it now is snuggled up in a cozy ball of style.) My husband uses this jacket to go to meetings, as well as to go into the backcountry, so we had to get another. This time we purchased the Argent color. It’s a little darker grey in person than in the stock photo, not by too much. It looks really nice and the color is much more versatile when dressing the cardigan up. As I have just demonstrated; would buy again if stolen. Well worth it.

Gives the look of wool but has really nice soft interior that is absorbing and breathable. The fit is really good and that was my deciding factor after trying on several similar products.

Cozy

Great fleece. Warm but not too hot if active / sheds excess heat well. Fits me well, others seem to have commented that the newer version is too snug, I wouldn't say I'm overly thin at 6'1" and 200lbs but a large fits me well without being too tight. I also really dig the extra length this has compared to other fleeces. No problems with pilling or stitches coming undone after a year of use. This was my first arcteryx purchase as their stuff is normally outside of my price range, but for a sweater fleece style piece this thing is well worth it.

how does the covert cardigan differ from the full zip covert cardigan?
