Cerium SL Hooded Jacket
The Men's Cerium SL Hooded Jacket is the lightest down jacket in Arc'teryx's Essentials collection and best serves you in cool, dry conditions. This is the type of jacket you'll pack when there isn't much room left in your backpack, but you know you'll need a lightweight, packable insulator for when the temperature inevitably drops with the sun. Arc'teryx used synthetic insulation in specific areas that would most likely see moisture in the alpine, and the water-resistant shell sheds any light moisture that would otherwise rob the lofty down of its insulating properties.
- Lightest down jacket in Arc'teryx's Essentials collection
- 850-fill down is surprisingly warm for how light it feels
- Strategically placed synthetic insulation resists moisture
- Water-resistant fabric protects down clusters from light moisture
- Adjustments at hood and hem secure coverage

Brought this jacket with me on a recent road trip. Was easy to pack as it stuffs into its own small bag. Came in handy on the 4th of July when we arrived in San Francisco - it was cool and windy when the fire works started. Will use it when I travel to Southeast Asia next winter - always needed something to keep me warm on the plane and when in the highlands.

Packs down just a tad smaller than the Cerium LT I also own. Noticeable difference in warmth but still toasty once you get moving. Great Jacket, would purchase again!

Great Jacket
- Size Bought
- Large

Just received this jacket. I love the fit and style. While lightweight and compressible, it seems to have good warmth to weight. I tend to run on the warm side when skiing and this should be the perfect mid-layer beneath my Arcteryx theta AR shell.

Extremely fragile

This is not an inexpensive jacket, I expected top quality and was left extremely disappointed. The jackets looks nice, feels nice, and is warm for it's weight...all very nice qualities. They are all negated by the fact that the shell material is so thin and fragile that if you actually wear the jackets, it get damaged doing very ordinary things. I went for a walk with my dogs, I brushed up against a shrub...there is a small tear on the sleeve with down coming out. I leaned over a wood fence to pick up a piece of trash, snag...another small tear on the side with down coming out. I went out to grab some fire wood, tucked a piece under my arm, snag...another tear on the arm with down coming out. There is also a small tear on the back, with down coming out, and I don't even know how that happened. This is really unacceptable for a jacket at this price point. I have much older and cheaper jackets that don't snag and tear if you look at them wrong. I would absolutely NOT recommend this jacket unless you only intend to use it as a base layer with a durable shell. As far as I am concerned, something this fragile should be liner in a jacket that cost what this cost.

this is a super light packable layer...you pay more for it being light and warm. If you want heavy and durable, so can spend a lot less and get a lot more jacket. lol

It’s an ultralight, a sub 10oz jacket. When you feel it you know it’s fragile. Anyone looking at this jacket please disregard this mans review as he’s stating the obvious. Wear a hard shell(or anything even a frogg togg rain jacket) over it if you’ll be doing something that could rip it or anything that has to do with fire. Just use common sense and you’ll be ok.

Thanks for being clear about the why. Bad reviews are as important as good ones, and I'd intend to use it for more than just a couch jacket. Way too fragile.
