Required wear for summits and belay ledges.

Funny how the temperature always seems to drop about ten degrees and the winds pick up by a few miles per hour as soon as you gain the summit. In moments like these, you'll be glad you packed your Arc'teryx Women's Cerium LT Hooded Down Jacket. Insulated with a combination of highly compressible and insulating 850-fill goose down through the body and water-resistant Coreloft synthetic fill in areas prone to moisture, the Cerium delivers reliable warmth at the most crucial moments of your adventures. When you are sitting on a cold and windy summit, the adjustable StormHood and cuffs help trap warm air next to your body while simultaneously keeping the elements out. And since this version of the Cerium sits at the lighter end of Arc'teryx's Cerium line, you don't have to worry about this jacket adding too much weight to your pack.

    Happy camper

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I love this jacket!!! After reading multiple reviews and blogs, and watching YouTube reviews I settled on a Ghost Whisperer. The fit was way too tight so I exchanged it for a larger size. Unfortunately it was still a and fit. I returned that, and got the Cerium. It feels much more durable even though it’s only very slightly more weight. It packs down small into its own stuff sack. It fits well with plenty of room to stretch my arms, and covers my waist. The hood and waist are adjustable making the fit more customizable. I’ve worn this on cold Sierra nights, and stayed toasty warm. Definitely worth he investment.

I bought mine in 2015. Love this jacket! I wear it pretty much daily in the spring and fall, and as insulation in the winter. It's not warm enough on it's own below 20deg F, IMO, if you're doing any standing around. Hood always stays up. I've worn this bc skiing and it has snagged on trees without ripping. My dog jumps up on me and her nails haven't torn it - not the case for other down jackets. Great backpacking as it's so lightweight. Put this in my purse during conferences and in my bag on the plane too because it's so packable. Literally the best jacket.

    Warm!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

I have the male version and love it! I finally got one for my wife this winter and it's amazing as well. Beats out all the Costco puffy's she's been getting for years. She's pregnant so she didn't to use it too much this season. So keep in mind it's form fitted but overall true to size. She's a small and a small was perfect on her. No issues like down coming out or anything that I could tell. Will report back after next year and more use.

Specific Design and Cut - Excellent!

I own both this Cerium as well as the Thorium and use them for different purposes. This Cerium is lighter than the Thorium, and made with a high down loft rating to give a high warmth to weight ratio. The outer fabric is, by design, is a little lighter weight than the Thorium outer fabric (still relatively lightweight) to be a fast and light, packable insulator when combined with a high-quality shell. While the Thorium is slightly more versatile (can be worn as an insulator or for casual use--up to a point) where the Cerium lends itself more toward being a fantastic insulator jacket (that some still wear as a casual go-to by itself only if exposure time is brief). This Cerium is slightly trimmer fitting than the Thorium (which still has a nice athletic fit) which makes sense since it's main purpose is as an insulator under that favorite outer shell. The colors are awesome.

    Quality declined - leaks down

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have three of these. The updated version for 2017/2018 is not the same quality as the other 2. It constantly leaks down from the back seams. I recommended this jacket to a friend hers also leaks in the same place. At first I thought it was from its manufacture and would stop leaking but it hasn’t and now cannot be returned. I am a huge arcteryx fan and I really hope that this is not a new trend for them. Really disappointed. I have put the other 2 through the wringer and they never leaked. I still use them. This one going in the closet as a reminder to lesson learned.

Michelle, thanks again for the honest review, I would highly suggest filling out the warranty form from Arc'teryx so they can get you a jacket that you aren't having issues with! Have your friend fill one out too!

    Warm and lightweight

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: XS
    • Height: 5'6"
    • Weight: 115lbs

This jacket is really versatile and is typical Arc'teryx quality. It's the perfect jacket to take with on a snowshoeing, backpacking, or hiking trip because it packs down so small when not needed while still being extremely warm. It's also great for wearing as an everyday down. I gave this as a gift and she absolutely loves it except for a couple things. There is some down migration after being worn a bunch, mostly in the armpits and the elbows. There is also the occasional feather that pops out through the shell, but this doesn't affect performance at all. Overall very happy with the jacket and those couple drawbacks don't take away from the 5 stars.

Dark feathers show through light colors

    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: medium
    • Height: 5'7"
    • Weight: 135lbs

I ordered this jacket in the Aspen Glow color. The fit was great and I loved the jacket. However, the dark feathers showed through making the jacket look like it was covered in dirty smudges. I was so disappointed to have to return it. It is hard to believe someone at Arctertyx would not have noticed this issue. It wasn't subtle, and this is a very expensive jacket.

    Too tight in the chest

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'
    • Weight: 144lbs

I ordered a medium size. The coat has a flattering shape, but it was too tight on my bust, and felt tight overall. I'm 5 feet 2 inches in height and wear a 34DD bra and a size 8-10 in USA dress size. Generally medium tops and dresses fit me perfectly, but this medium was more than snug---it was tight. I could go a higher size, and incorporate a mid layer, however, I would end up with sleeves too long and bulky. So I returned it. Last, but not least, the color choices weren't great. I prefer neutrals like black, navy, white, and this coat comes in those shades, but I wish they ventured into other colors that can be worn as neutrals like deep sea green, deep aquamarine blue, silvery gray, etc.

I got it for backpacking but...

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: small
    • Height: 5'2"
    • Weight: 101lbs

Now I want to wear it ALL the time. I need something warm super light for backpacking and I'm SO glad I got this. It fits perfectly, it's very lightweight and packs up into a little mini roll that fits nicely in my daypack. I also like how the hood has a drawstring in the back of the neck for a custom fit. I love the deep mindnight blue color I got with the contrasting zipper. It has this very subtle sheen that I didn't expect. Not flashy at all it just adds interest to the fabric. Couldn't be happier with my investment.

    Almost perfect

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'4"
    • Weight: 105lbs

I've been on the hunt for the perfect down jacket. Of all the jacket's I've tried, this was the best, but it still wasn't perfection, and at this pricepoint, I do expect perfection, so unfortunately I sent it back. I found the hourglass shape to be a bit too severe and the sleeves were just a tiny bit short when reaching. I could have lived with those things, but the hood just didn't cut it. I think it's the elastic around the hood that makes it look like a big bubble behind your neck when it's down. It just will not lay anywhere near flat when in the down position. I have medium length hair, and the hood was ok with my hair up, but got in the way with my hair down. I liked how the hood worked when it was on my head, but 90% of the time the hood would be down, and I think it would've drove me crazy. I tried the non-hooded version too, but for some reason it fit way too big in the same size.

    Avoid Aspen Glow!

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: True to size

I ordered 'Aspen Glow' and immediately returned it. Seems like a pretty legit jacket, but I wouldn't recommend the light colors options. Some of the down in the jacket it very dark and was visible through the fabric which ended up making the jacket look really dirty from a distance. I looked in the mirror after trying it on and at first I thought coffee had been spilled all over it, but it was just the dark down showing through.
Overall it seems like a great jacket, but I'm giving it one star because of the transparency, it was so noticeable that I returned it before using it. Which like the one star rating stands for 'straight up sucks'.

Baja Blue is not the color you see!

    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: small
    • Height: 5'4"
    • Weight: 120lbs

I was so looking forward to receiving this jacket in Baja -- the color shown online looked really nice....WHEN in actually, it's some sort of dark teal -- really ugly. I don't think i've seen an uglier color!

    Couldn't be happier!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have taken this jacket on a few trips now and I truly don't know how I went on previous backcountry trips without it. It's small enough that it packs well and warm enough that you don't need to worry about the temperature. It's cozy, comfortable and looks great—I got it in Radicchio and I'm obsessed! The jacket is simple and functional and I can't wait to get it in another color.

    Perfect!

I have always been a Patagonia girl, but I was steered towards this jacket and I'm so happy I was. It's flattering, packable, and insanely warm for its low profile. I have used it for chilly fall mountain biking and hiking so far and can't wait to wear it this winter. Generally runs on the smaller size which is consistent for me with Arcteryx.

      Warm and Comfy

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: Runs small
      • Size Bought: Large
      • Height: 5'4"

The Arc'teryx Cerium LT Hooded down jacket is a really beautiful, warm, and comfortable jacket. Weighing in at only 8.9 oz, this 850 fill down sweater is great to take anywhere. It is made of a surprisingly durable fabric that is tough enough to climb in, yet is classy enough for a night out on the town.

I have had my eye on the Cerium LT for years. I decided I could justify an extra jacket now that I am living in the Wasatch and I'm glad I did! I bought my husband the men's version last winter and I've been jealous ever since.

I've worn it down to 30 degrees while walking around and stayed warm. If you are wearing it as a winter camping jacket, it is not the warmest, because it is ultralight. If you want a comparison, its weight is closer to the Patagonia Ultralight Down Sweater than the Down Sweater, but the warmth would be in between the two. It is warmer, weighs less, and is more packable than the Arc'teryx Atom LT hoody.

If you are trying to decide between this version and the hoodless version, I definitely recommend the hooded version. The hood really impressed me because it is packed full of down and makes a huge difference in warmth when you add it. The neck comes up higher on the hooded version, as well, which additionally keeps you warmer. The hood doesn't have cinch cords on the front, but the one cinch cord on the back is effective. The face of the hood has an elastic brim that helps keep it close to your face, even with wind gusts.

Other noteworthy features are that it includes a stuff sack for added packability and portability and it has two deep handwarmer pockets.I wish it had a chest pocket or an inner zipped pocket, but that isn't a deal breaker.

The Cerium LT is great as a layering piece because the outer fabric glides really smoothly. As for fit, it definitely runs small in the chest and rib cage. I recommend sizing up if you are going to layer underneath it or if you are between sizes. If you are tall and thin, this jacket will look amazing on you.

Bottom line: I love how warm it is for its weight and and how good it looks. I definitely recommend this jacket and will wear the heck out of it this fall and winter.

If you have any questions about this jacket, I'd love to help.

      Worth the Splurge

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Small
      • Height: 5'4"
      • Weight: 125lbs

For something so lightweight, this thing packs some serious warmth. Speaking of packing... it packs into its pocket with ease, meaning that throwing it into your bag is a no-brainer no matter the situation. For me, there's nothing worse than getting to a summit and then having the bonechilling cold set in - this jacket ensures I can take time to admire the views without feeling like I have to keep moving before I get cranky. I grabbed the Small for a tighter fit, but the Medium wasn't too big.

      Disappointing

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

I've never reviewed a product before but feel compelled to write one for this jacket. It is light weight, warm and a great color! However, after wearing it for only a few months (normal day to day wear, nothing rigorous or technical), it has not worn well. It started leaking feathers within a few weeks, which eventually turned into holes. The sleeve also tore when removing it from an Arc'teryx shell (which I love!). At this point, I leave a trail of feathers any time I wear this jacket. I contacted their customer service, who was super friendly and informed me that these issues were not manufacturer defects but they'd be happy to repair the jacket for a fee. I've not experienced anything like this with other down jackets from Patagonia, North Face or Canada Goose (including other light weight down jackets). This is not the quality I expect from Arc'teryx and hope this is a fluke. I will think twice before purchasing any non-SV or MX Arc'teryx garments again.
