Don't break down when it's cold outside.

Cerium is the most abundant rare earth metal. It decomposes slowly in cold water and rapidly in hot water. The Arc'teryx Mens' Cerium LT Hooded Down Jacket is not quite as prevalent as its namesake, but it does slow your decomposition in cold weather. The combination of 850-fill goose down and strategically placed Coreloft insulation keeps you warm during bone-chilling days in the backcountry. While Coreloft insulation does resist moisture better than down, and an ominous drizzle won't leave you a cold, soaking mess, it's best to pair this with a waterproof shell if you know wet weather is coming. This superlight hooded jacket comes with its own stuff sack so you can easily bring it along on your next ski tour.

    WARM, LIGHT and PACKABLE

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: X-LARGE
    • Height: 6'1"
    • Weight: 210lbs

Love this jacket!!...was going to get a large after reading some reviews, but ended up talking to the Tech help and they recommended the X-Large,
    it is a perfect fit.
Live in cold Wisconsin and just wear a shirt under and am warm.

Twice the puffy, half the stuffy!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 194lbs

This mid layer is phenomenal! Extremely pack-able for hiking or climbing, and it is considerably more durable than I had originally thought it would be. I was pleasantly surprised as well when I discovered how warm it was in opposition to other puffy jackets I've had. Some of which were considerably larger and did not pack quite as well. 10/10 would wear along side Nicholas Cage in the opening scene of National Treasure. (Now you're going to Google "Opening Scene of National Treasure").

    All around performer!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Love this jacket. I own many jackets and coats, but wanted something that was light, warm, and weatherproof for my weekends. Having two little ones, I always have to carry a lot of stuff when we are walking around in the city and wanted something to accommodate it.

I have a hard time not grabbing it this whole winter. It’s been keeping me warm in NYC winter, blocks wind, light, and also fits great! I purchased the dark blue one and it works for going out to restaurants and bars.

I usually have issues with sleeve lengths in many jackets and this fits perfect too! My Patagonia and Marmot jackets always have an inch too long. Not this jacket!

Warm and Light, best combo I know of!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 190lbs

I have owned both the updated and the older version of this jacket and cannot recommend it highly enough. I have used it on the ski slopes as a standalone piece when its 10 degrees F to under my Alpha SV when I am needing more warmth or when its freezing rain or sleeting. I personally sized up from a medium (which fit pretty well) to a large in order to be able to fit a bit thicker of a base layer or fleece under it if I needed to. I have found it to be very durable even when falling over rocks, branches or gates while skiing or slipping while shoveling the driveway and rubbing it on the pavement. I also bought the nocturne color that is a wonderful dark blue color.
Seriously cannot say how much I love this jacket! I know its pricey but you will not be disappointed when you buy it and it will last you for years and years.

Its what you need - warm and lightweight

I own the Fission SV for the real brutal weather where you need a more protective shell. However, for those days that are just down right cold - but not wet - this is my go-to jacket. It is warm and fits great! I will wear it with just a short sleeve shirt when the temperature is in the teens - with a breeze. If the price is not an obstacle, I would highly recommend giving consideration to this jacket. It is more of a slim/athletic cut.

Impressed with how light this jacket is. Also very warm; I wear this when its to cold for my atom lt. Usually lows 20 and below. A great piece for wearing around town or as a mid layer skiing and snowboarding. I find it to warm for winter hiking! A great jacket with a slightly tighter fit then the atom line.

    Totally Rad

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 6'0"

I have the SV and gave the LT as a gift to a friend. They love this jacket. Its the perfect down weight for those that run hot in the winter or like down jacket without the high volume loft look.

    I think I got a bad one

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: medium

Immediately started losing feathers, like within wearing it twice. Wore it every day for 10 days, feathers falling out after every wear. Luckily no one threw tar on me. :)
The Fit was nice and snug and super warm - probably a great jacket but mine was a lemon.

    Tears so easily

    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 6'1"

Itś a great jacket when it comes to warmth, it´s like wearing a sleeping bag. it´s extremely light weight, and compacts nicely into the pouch found inside the jacket. However, I have patched it twice from tears. Not a cheap jacket for something that can´t handle a few twigs while hiking, so I don´t recommend this if you plan on doing any activities with it. Sitting around a campfire on a cold night is about the most I will do with it now.

Arc’teryx Cerium LT Hooded Down Jacket

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Height: 6'1"
    • Weight: 166lbs

I am 6’1 and weight 165 lbs. Relatively skinny upper body. This jacket fits almost perfectly. I would prefer like 1-2 inches longer at waist. Sleeves are perfect length and hood shoulders fit well. I have worn this jacket in very low temperature conditions down to -10F both active and inactive. It is super warm. On one occasion, I was on Kilimanjaro at ~4AM at 16-19K ft and I was sweating walking up the mountain with temps around 0-5F.

Favorite features: I like the sleek end caps and coreloft integration in end of sleeves, hood and shoulders. The hood is better than any hat and neck stays toasty.

Cons: I wish was slightly longer around the waist. Also no adjustable band around the waist, this is usually fine but I have had snow shoot up the back with a fall in deep powder.

    Great jacket

I like this jacket because its a great combo between weight and warmth. The ghost whisperer is lighter, but nowhere near as warm. I also like the coreloft mapping, which helps keep me warm in higher output activities.

      The sweet spot

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

Needing a new puffy this fall was something I had dreaded for a while, the high price tag had kept me away from the cerium lt for a few years. I have warmer down jackets for sub zero temperatures but that was not my intended purpose for the cerium lt. This jacket is perfect for chilly morning hikes and as a winter ski midlayer. Having an ultralight down jacket is essential in the Rockies, so I did my homework before picking this one up to get something I could use for summer backpacking and winter use. Having a jacket that is well rounded and can be used in a variety of conditions is important in my book and I am excited to put it to use for years to come. The cerium lt is great in temperatures in the 50’s to 30’s with just a t shirt but when it gets colder a nice flannel or fleece is always important. I went with a large for layering but could easily have gone with a medium for a tighter fit. If you have any questions feel free to reach out to me at abutterworth@backcountry.com

Hey Michael! I use this as a stand alone for casual use and a mid layer for cold days skiing and hiking. The fabric on the cerium is very thin so whenever I am around anything that has potential to mess up the fabric I use a shell over top of it.

      I’m sure it’s a great jacket

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Large
      • Height: 5'10"
      • Weight: 175lbs

I’ve been looking for a down jacket for my winter needs. I have the Atom LT, Patagonia Down Sweater, and North Face thermoball. I got the Cerium LT as a gift and it seems like an amazing jacket. But the price is very high, especially since you can get a Patagonia down sweater for a little more than half the price of this. The Cerium is very warm, but I just don’t have a use for it. My outwear approach is layers, and this jacket is too much in price and warmth. The length is a bit short so I found myself pulling the jacket down throughout the day. I live in the PNW so wet conditions don’t warrant well for down so I don’t find myself wearing this much. I’ll be returning it. I’m sure it’s a great jacket for someone in freezing temps standing outside, but the Patagonia Down sweater is more than enough for my needs at a reduced cost.

      Slim Fitting

Bought the Medium size. I’m 5-11” 155lbs with a 39” chest and 29” waist. Returned because this jacket was a little too tight for me especially when layering. Also, the torso is pretty short. Definitely recommend sizing up, but the sleeve length was perfect so may run longer if you do size up. Wasn’t a fan of the cuffs. The elastic was loose which would allow could air to enter.

        Awesome lightweight, warm jacket

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

        • Size Bought: Large
        • Height: 6'4"
        • Weight: 165lbs

I've had this coat about 9 months, and I'm extremely happy with it! I've taken it all over, and never had any problems with it whatsoever. It packs up super small, is lightweight, and most importantly is warm! I would absolutely recommend this jacket to anyone looking for a good high quality puffy.

        Stay Warm

This super warm, light, and durable jacket works great with a waterproof shell like the Alpha SL jacket when moisture is in the forecast; I use it on early morning ski tours and the stuff pocket makes for easy packing when the temperatures rise.

        Unanswered Question

Arcteryx Cerium LT hoody has an old version and a revised version which fixes issue(s) on the old version.
Is this item (ARC00P6) the revised version?
I am planning to buy a M size black or Pompeii/Matador.
