    Do it all.

From groomer days to lift-served powder turns, the Arc'teryx Men's Cassiar Pants will do it all. The best of both worlds, this pant is constructed with a protective 3-layer Gore-Tex membrane that shields you from wind and water and a supple 4-way stretch fabric that enables you to move without restraint. A brushed flannel backer adds insulation and comfort when skiing. Internal adjusters leave the waistline clean and add to the pant's streamlined look while giving you a secure fit. Mesh-lined PowderGuard vents let you dump heat on warm days or after a long run. PowderCuffs keep snow from sneaking into your boots, while Keprotec insteps guard your hems against abrasion from sharp ski edges or boots.

    Does Not Perform

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've used these pants for several months in all sorts of conditions, and the bottom line is they just don't perform like you would expect them to, especially for the astronomical price tag. The fit, look, and feel are all great and up to the typical Arcteryx standard, but when it comes to protecting you from the elements, they fall really flat and are outperformed by ski pants that are a fraction of the cost.

While the 3-layer Softshell Gortex fabric feels great, it sucks up any sort of moisture like a sponge and you get cold and soaked through to your base layers very quickly Even though we would like to, we can't always be skiing in single digits with light and dry powder. Conditions vary and if you're out long enough, in-bouds or out, you're going to get wet and you're ski pants should be able to keep you dry and warm.

Arcteryx missed the mark on this one.

I am a knee droppin', freeheeler so when I saw "supple 4-way stretch fabric" I was sold on the Cassiar Pants immediately. What I am trying to say is that I practice the sport of telemark skiing which requires a lot of leg movement and lunging. It seems that the Cassiar was made for tele.

I was in the market for a new on-piste, resort pant and after trying on almost every pair of ski pants that Arc'teryx makes, I finally settled on the Cassiar. I was between a Medium and Large in every other pant but the Cassiar is sized numerically which was also a deciding factor. I am typically a 34x34 in pants and went with these in the 34/Tall. I will admit that the Tall inseam is a little long for me and the pants hit the ground when I am in street shoes. But with my Scarpa TX Pro Tele Boots on they fit perfectly in my opinion. I have about 25 days in them and counting and they have kept me warm and dry throughout many storms already (what a winter?!). I cannot recommend the Cassiar enough to anyone looking for a versatile ski pant.

Feel to contact me directly with questions on Arc'teryx Pants, other ski outerwear or anything ski related.
