Beta SV Bib Pant

Arc'teryx focuses on extended versatility and maximizing mountainous adventuring with the updated Arc'teryx Beta SV Bib. These hardwearing bibs conquer severe weather. A new, fully seam-sealed, three-layer Gore-Tex membrane with Most Rugged Technology provides unmatched confidence as you explore deep into the backcountry. Newly designed reinforcement panels are strategically placed in high wear areas of the bibs to shield close contact with the wilderness, preparing the Beta SV for abrasion-resistant mountaineering.

As you're adventuring around in the mountains, sealing out the elements is a big deal. The Beta SV bibs deliver with an elasticized waist and PowderCuffs at the ankles. The elasticized waist also offers a snug fit that the adjustable suspenders help dial in. The durable Cordura PowderCuffs keep the snow from creeping up your legs, and the bib legs are abrasion resistant to your mountaineering gear. Arc'teryx also adds a durable Keprotec instep to extend the lifespan of the Beta SV.

To make it easy to get in and out of these bibs when nature calls or at the end of your adventure, WaterTight zippers offer a drop-seat option for quick removal. With all these features, you can head to the alpine in confidence with the Beta SV Bib that's as rugged as the terrain.

Super lightweight gortex would last a super long time. Really easy to move in. Straps come strait down the middle of the chest it’s too bad there isn’t another option to move the straps to the side. It’s not uncomfortable but isn’t appealing. Probably not an issue for women with smaller chests or someone that won’t be taking off their jacket. Other than that great bibs.

I like these bibs! They move well and are great for touring and the resort. They are durable while still being breathable. They fit well on my frame. While I wore the smalls, should I buy these, I would size down into the extra smalls. If you like pockets, keep in mind that the pockets on these are limited and that to vent you have to zip from your armpit or from the bottom of the pants.

I really love these bibs and only have one real gripe with them, but would be a gripe with any pair of bibs. Let's start with the good. I really like the fit of these, its tough for me to find a bib that fits well around the legs, waist, and hips. The Beta SV bib covers all of those aspects, and really well. The construction and design is also great for these bibs. My only gripe is that these bibs run a little colder. I found when it got down into the single digits I started to get a bit colder, even with a thermal base layer. This would happen with really any shell I'm thinking, however I bet if I maybe added a layer on top of my base layer, that would suffice.

These bibs surprised me with how movable they were. When I tried them on initially, I was concerned at how slim fitted they were and thought I would find them constricting. I am between small and medium but decided to go with the small. It's a bit more snug than I'm used to, but still fits my layers just fine and I actually found I liked the slim fit because it shaved unnecessary bulk. And when I got out in these on my snowboard, I hardly noticed them. The gussets allow for maximum movement and they are definitely made to be sturdy (I am not at all afraid of taking these through tight tree runs). It is a well designed, lightweight bib and I would definitely recommend them! They are pretty minimalistic so they are well suited for the backcountry. I love that the gaiters can be opened fully so I don't have to take off my boots (or crampons if you're ice climbing) to get these off or adjust them. There are only 2 small pockets, so if you are someone who likes pockets in your bibs, you may want to look elsewhere. I mostly keep things I need in my jackets so I didn't find the lack of pockets a problem. These are definitely well thought out with the 3 zippers, removable/adjustable suspenders, burly construction, and durability. They are definitely worth the money since these should last you for years if you treat them right!

Pants that are durable, comfortable and waterproof are great for days spent outside on the hill. That's why these are the go-to for us. They will last seasons not days and still come back looking like we just took them out of the package. My wife loves when she scrapes a tree or branch and surely the pant has ripped and you look down and can't even tell it touched anything. Pretty amazing!

Resorts & Backcountry Skiing

Familiarity:
I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

True to size

I just got these for my mom who was in need of a bib for resort skiing. Full size zips and a drop hem keeps you cool and avoiding those awkward moments when nature calls. A burly 3 layer gore-tex construction keeps you dry all day long, and is quite abrasion resistant. I'd recommend these bibs to anyone who is looking for a resort or backcountry bib to last them a very long time.

These bibs are bomber! They are the most rugged hardshell pant offering from Arc'teryx, with 3-layer Gore-Tex and WaterTight zippers throughout to ensure that you're fully protected from the elements. They're at home in deep snow, on mid-winter ice, atop glaciers, and basically anywhere else where staying dry means staying warm (and staying warm means staying safe). If you're looking for a shell pant to transition with you from ski touring to ice climbing and everything in between, this is it. If you have any questions about Arc'teryx gear, feel free to reach out! I'm their ambassador here in the office, and I'm always happy to chat about anything and everything Arc'teryx.
