    All-mountain versatility.

Designed for all-around mountain use, the Arc'teryx Women's Beta AR Pants will keep your legs dry during the three hour slog below treeline and will repel snow once you reach the alpine. The waterproof Gore-Tex Pro shell with fully taped seams shed snow, sleet, and heavy rain and will breathe like a champ, so you can enjoy the descent without cold and wet legs.

An athletic fit with e3D technology provides an enhanced range of motion in challenging environments while the adjustable webbing belt keeps the Beta comfortably and securely in place. The 3/4-length WaterTight side zippers help ditch excess heat during the climb and stop below the harness or hip belt area so you won't experience chafing or excess bulk in the backcountry. Arc'teryx also equipped the Beta AR with Keprotec instep patches to protect the pant bottoms against ski or board edges, crampons, and boots while its Cordura PowderCuffs with lace hooks affix the pant to your ski or alpine boots.

Only hardshell pant you will ever need!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small

I bought these pants for Mount Kilimanjaro as well as general winter hiking and snowshoeing. They kept me dry and warm during a hail storm which turned into a snowstorm at 15,000 feet as well as on a very snowy & icy summit day at nearly 20,000 feet.

Although fitted through the hip, these pants fit easily over a pair of Columbia Heat Tech leggings and also over a pair of heavier, climbing weight base leggings; you can cinch at the waist with the built in belt. I do find Arcteryx to run small, so I got a large, and just belted tight. What I liked about these pants was the built in gaiter, which easily hooked onto my boot laces and kept out all of the icy scree. It was roomy enough too that I could wear over my existing gaiters too for the really bad summit weather. I also really liked the side zippers, which were great for ventilation and heat control. There is a good solid pocket, which fit my small digital camera & chapstick.

They dried easily and I was able to just wipe off the mud.

They are packable and I did fit into a stuff stack but my larger sized one, as they do not pack down small due to the gaiter and reinforced inner leg. I found it easier to fold in half and then half again, rather than roll.

I do recommend sizing your current size or even sizing up - as I did find the pant to be a bit fitted in the thigh and quad - especially if wearing a heavier baselayer. I sized up as I was between sizes and I am glad I did as I did not have any issues with mobility.

Have since used on a winter hike and am planning on turning them into my ski pant. Really happy with this purchase and although pricey, they seem like they will last forever. A great all around mountaineering pant!

    Arc'teryx – Women's Beta AR Pant

Made from two different GORE-TEX® Pro textiles, the Beta AR Pant is thoughtfully designed and crafted to balance complete weather protection, light weight, packability and protection from wear and abrasion. The pant is made from N40r-X GORE-TEX® Pro fabric, a lightweight ripstop that delivers waterproof protection, a high level of breathability and surprising durability for its weight. The seat, knees and lower leg are reinforced with burly, abrasion resistant N80p-X GORE-TEX® Pro for added protection in these higher impact areas.

Amazing light weight and stylish skipant

Bought these as a gift for my Mom! And she loves them! They fit very nice and the gortex keeps her dry and warm in the chilliest conditions! These pants are top of the line. No complaints! And with the lifetime warranty you can not go wrong! A little pricey but worth every penny!

      Great Christmas Gift

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

Got these for Christmas from my mom. Super awesome pants. Very windproof, very waterproof. She got the Raku color and I have to say it is WAY more purple than the picture shows. Makes for an awesome combination since I have the tiger lily (ie ORANGE!) Beta AR and Alpha SV as shell options. the 3/4 (really like 9/10ths) side zips are great because you don't have to worry about overdoing the zipper and can still drop the zipper for extra breathability.

Great pants for winter shell - way too much for a rain pant or something like that.

The built in gaiter is a nice feature and the bottom of the legs is nicely thickened to prevent issues with crampons.

My mom ordered a size up to accommodate baselayering but probably did not need to do this since ArcT designs their shells to fit layers underneath (such foresight so rare in many companies!). I don't mind though since I plan to use them when winter camping and such so a nice pair of insulated pants will easily fit under -- and I like them a little roomy so airflow keeps up - I don't do anything in harnesses currently so I'm not as concerned usually with a tight fit.

All in all - super pants (especially for the 130$ she got them for!) and another killer Christmas gift from my mom.
