    Essential all-around outdoor performance.

The versatile Arc'teryx Women's Beta AR Jacket is the ultimate outdoor companion, capable of taking on everything from skiing and hiking to alpine expeditions. As the number two in Arc'teryx's Essentials line, the Beta AR bears an uncanny resemblance to it's big sister, the Theta AR. Both jackets are sleek, all-weather and all-conditions beasts, but the big difference between the siblings is the Beta AR sports a higher hemline that sits at the hip.

Just like the Theta AR, the Beta AR is made with Gore-Tex Pro and sealed with tiny Gore-taped seams to shut out rain and snow while still maintaining breathability for high-intensity activities. Laminated zippers are icing on the cake, and in combination with the construction, offer you weatherproof protection from blinding snow, sideways rain storms, and even your toddler throwing apple juice your way. High-wear areas of the jacket are reinforced with extremely abrasion-resistant N80p-X Gore-Tex Pro for increased durability without tacking on too much weight.

At under a pound, the Beta AR is light on weight, but it's also heavy on features that fit your active life. Laminated underarm vents open quickly and without hassle, and the underarm gussets give you the chance to move to the beat of your own drum without the entire jacket bunching up. The microsuede facing on the full collar protects your chin from chafing against the jacket in chilly temps, and the helmet-compatible DropHood sports a laminated brim so the rain and sleet won't cloud your vision. No matter what adventure you have lined up for the day, wear the Beta AR with the confidence that it will help you perform your best.

    Bomber shell for bae

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I bought this jacket as a Christmas gift for my gf and this is what she had to say about it: "I have been using this jacket both resort skiing and backcountry skiing for about a month and I love it! It performs better than any jacket I have had before. I love the under arm zippers because they allow me to stay cool on the uphills, and all zippers seal tightly so that I stay dry when it's really wet out. The wind does not cut through at all, and I am warm and comfortable on even the wettest days, without feeling clammy inside the coat. I love the plum color and the length is good because it keeps the snow out from below. The hood is a good shape, and fits over my helmet. I would recommend this jacket for anyone looking for a versatile ski shell that's able to keep up with changing conditions, activities, and terrain. "

I bought this as a gift for my step-mom and she has put it through the wringer! She loved in when she visited Iceland especially as shown in the picture! She raves about this jacket. It's sturdy enough to put up with her bushwhacking and occasional mountain bike rides in the rain, and it is great for snowshoeing or skiing in the winter thanks to the pit zips to vent heat. This is more than a rain jacket, and it's what you'll find yourself reaching for constantly before heading out on your daily adventures. It can take a beating and keep you dry. Gotta love the Gore-Tex! It seems thin when you first get it. but that's the best part because it shaves some of the weight without sacrificing durability. The AR for all-round in this jacket's name means just that! It's excellent. Her only complaint is that she wishes the torso and sleeves were maybe an inch longer, but it gets the job done.

    Arc'teryx Beta AR (All Around)

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

When you first look at this jacket, you can immediately tell how nice it is. It's very well made, the seams are sealed very nicely. It's honestly really beautiful...haha. I have worn this jacket in snow and wind, not for a long time, but walking around. (I've only had it a short time) It kept me completely dry it isn't insulated, but it will keep you warm if you have some warm layers underneath. The sleeves are long like most Arc'teryx jackets, they are supposed to be long. It isn't fitted, the jacket has space for layers. All in all, I really like it. No complaints.
