This is a great shell. Sleeves are a great length. It’s a little noisy but it’s waterproof. Super well made. I’ve had it for 2 years. I use a cerium LT inside and it fits well. You can cross your arms and the jacket doesn’t get tight in the shoulders. Honestly it’s the best technical jacket I’ve owned or used. It’s comparable in quality to my Canada Goose, but with an advanced technical build. I love Arc’teryx, I’ve never had a bad time with their products. They really make some of the best stuff available. I recommend them to anyone who is an average or athletic build.

The jacket is amazing...but. You would think when you buy a $500 raincoat that you would get an arcteryx sticker. It may be petty, I don’t know, but when I opened my jacket, a jacket I have waited my entire adult life to buy, and realized I didn’t get an arcteryx sticker I was a little disappointed. I don’t usually care for stickers much, I like the backcountry sticker but I have too many of those. I just wanted one of the white arcterxy stickers to put on the back of my new Tacoma, but nope, no sticker, very sad.😪, fortunately the tears I cried, bead up beautifully as they run across the surface of my new jacket.

Essential Versatility

The Beta AR is a do it all piece from Arc'teryx. Packed with features like pit zips, storm collar and helmet compatible hood this jacket ensure all your backcountry jacket needs are met. With GORE Pro this jacket is incredible waterproof and breathable but when you need to dump extra heat the pit zips are there to keep you moving. If you are looking for a jacket that is at home in any conditions no matter what you are doing take a a second look at the Beta AR.

Pictures show the guy with an insulated jacket underneath. Is it a 3 in 1 that comes with a separate insulated layer?

No it is not. This is just a shell, those photos show possible layering options.
