    Atom LT Hooded Insulated Jacket

One of the most versatile jackets you'll ever add to your gear arsenal is the Arc'teryx Women's Atom LT Hooded Insulated Jacket. Wear it by itself from spring to fall on chilly adventures backpacking, climbing, or hiking, and then slide a waterproof shell over it for ski sessions in winter. When worn by itself, the Tyono shell balances wind protection with air permeable comfort so you don't overheat, and the DWR coating sheds light rainfall to help keep you dry. To keep you mobile for athletic movement, Polartec Power Stretch side panels provide a four-way stretch, plus they wick moisture, dry quickly, are durable, and breathe so you can tackle difficult summits without pulling layers off and on the whole time.

Arc'teryx also added Coreloft insulation that uses air permeable panels to ensure excellent thermal regulation. Coreloft will also still keep you warm even if it gets wet. A trim fit helps you layer over the Atom LT with ease if you need extra wind or rain protection. On days that require a little extra protection, but not a whole extra layer, throw on the adjustable, helmet-compatible StormHood to seal out the cold.

    • Versatile jacket for any and all season usage in the outdoors
    • DWR treatment beads and repels moisture for dry comfort
    • Tyono fabric balances wind protection and air permeability
    • Coreloft insulation is lofty, provides warmth even when wet
    • Polartec Power Stretch side panels allow athletic movement
    • Hardface Technology increases level of abrasion resistance
    • Adjustable StormHood is helmet compatible for wherever protection
    • Arc'teryx focuses its designs on a simple, less is more philosophy

    The Sleeping Bag of Jackets

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'3"
    • Weight: 114lbs

I bought an Atom LT for myself last fall. It is my favorite jacket that I own, and I have A Lot of jackets. I barely even wore my favorite leather jackets all winter.

I live in Mississippi, and this jacket basically got me through the entire winter, except on the coldest days. I wore this in 40 degree weather all the time. It is super light weight, warm, and terribly soft and puffy. It's also very easy to move in, shoulders are nicely articulated, and the side panels are nicely stretchy. The pockets are well sized, and I love having a breast pocket like guys always get.

It's seriously like walking around in a sleeping bag, and it's the best. I love the hood, too. My ears are so happy to be warm. I think I look ridiculous with it on, but I don't even care. Warm ears for life.

I loved it so much I bought one for my mom. She also loves it. She did size up to an XL to get room for extra layers. I wear a size small, and it is perfect. After a full season of wear, it looks like it's in mint condition. I look forward to wearing it for a long, long time.

    It almost fit :(

    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'11"
    • Weight: 140lbs

I bought it in a Medium, thinking it would fit my 5'11" frame, but the shoulders weren't wide enough and the torso wasn't long enough for my tall frame. I sadly had to return it :( On goes the search for the non-manly jacket that fits my tall but womanly shape. I really wish it fit because I loved it otherwise!

It's growing on me.... not literally!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'7"
    • Weight: 145lbs

I bought this jacket after having this brand and style of hoodie suggested to me a bunch. I find the performance/athletic fit is not exactly what I was hoping for but when it comes to functionality in the mountains, it would definitely be my go-to layer now. I'm usually a S/M - more on the Medium end, but I fluctuate enough that I wasn't sure - and I'm happy I bought the Medium.

I've layered underneath it with my Melenzana hoodie, wool layers, and T-shirts. it's very warm and it also does surprisingly well in wet conditions. I got caught in a downpour the other day and it beaded for a while, repelling the rain, then it dried out nice and quick!

Overall, very impressed with this jacket. I wasn't convinced when I first tried it on, but it's quickly becoming a favorite layer!

    Almost Perfect

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'4"
    • Weight: 135lbs

I love almost everything about this jacket except for the seam placements on the shoulders and bust. In my opinion, these types of jackets look best with rounded shoulders (no seam) to provide a good universal fit and a seam over the bust that rounds down instead of straight or up. (The Patagonia Nano-Air is an example of that design.) Instead, this jacket accentuates my broad shoulders and busty-ness with seam placement -- not in a flattering way. Also, I usually wear size Small in jackets but I had to size up to a Medium to feel remotely comfortable around the bust and waist (which then made the arms bulkier up top than I preferred and added to the linebacker look.) My bust measures 35" which is technically at the top end of size Small, but the rest of me is well within Small. It's very very close to being a perfect jacket but not quite for me due to a few design details. I DO love the color selection -- more deep, rich colors like Crimson and Shorepine please!

    So Light

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size
    • Height: 5'2"
    • Weight: 115lbs

Got this as a gift for my wife and she loves it. Super light and super warm, great as a midweight piece for warmth. Durable and a great trustworthy brand!

Light as a feather & incredibly Soft!!

I bought this Amazing & incredibly soft & warm Insulated jacket for my Spain backpacking trip! I’m super excited to wear it around town & locally. It holds up pretty good so far in our training high elevation/ mountain hiking trips!

      Amazing Investment

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: XL
      • Height: 5'5"
      • Weight: 180lbs

I cannot say enough great things about this jacket. I have been looking for a midweight piece to wear during winter here in WA and this jacket does it all. I am busty up top so did size up from my usual L to an XL which does make it a bit larger in the waist and hips but the side elastic tab helps to tighten it, which makes it easier to layer underneath as well. Otherwise, it runs true to size. The cut and comfort are great as the side panels allow room for stretch and to move. I wear this hiking all the time and usually have to take it off because I get too warm with it. On casual walks outside, wearing a sweatshirt or fleece underneath when it's 30 is perfect. People have complained about the fact that the zipper does release and come down on its own, but it was designed to do that. If you're larger up top, it may do that more often, but I get around that by just zipping it up past the breasts. It's easy to clean, breathable, SO comfortable, and doesn't make me look like a linebacker like a lot of those "puffy" jackets would. As always, Arc'teryx makes top quality products and the price is worth it. Will definitely be buying more of them. PS pocket sizes are great and warm, the cuffs are a bit tight, but is only a problem in that they require effort to get them over a smart watch/bracelet. Hood size is also perfect and lays flat when not up.

      Lives up to the hype

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: M
      • Height: 5'8"
      • Weight: 140lbs

I've searched high and low for a mid layer and I've finally found my match. The jacket has a very premium feel to it and fits amazing. It's the perfect weight for layering or as stand-alone jacket when doing a high output activity. I couldn't be happier with this purchase!

      Must have

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Height: 5'6"
      • Weight: 135lbs

The product description really says it all. This jacket is such a versatile and comfortable piece that I wear almost year round. It's great in the winter as a mid layer and equally awesome as an outer layer in the fall/spring. Incredibly breathable and stretchy. I love it and recommend it to all my friends!

      The perfect midlayer

      • Size Bought: small
      • Height: 5'3"
      • Weight: 125lbs

I love this jacket so much! I got the shoreline green color and am obsessed. It's exactly what it looks like in the picture. For being a synthetic, breathable jacket, I find it to be plenty warm. I have worn it snowshoeing at night and I did unzip while we were climbing (i had a merino wool baselayer) but coming down, I was perfect with it zipped up and the hood on. I would say it runs true to size, but if you are in between sizes, size up. I can wear an xs or small and the small fit me perfectly.

      the perfect midlayer

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: Runs small
      • Size Bought: Medium
      • Height: 5'2"

I got this jacket for Christmas and haven't taken it off! I've worn it as a mid-layer ski touring and had to shed my outer shell both times - it definitely punches above its weight in warmth. I've worn it to work under a fitted leather jacket and didn't look like a marshmallow!!! This jacket has easily taken the place of my old duct-taped puffy. My favorite feature is the gaiter/zipper/hood. The zipper goes up to my nose and is still somehow cute? The hood is warm and snug - no snow gets through and my ears stay toasty. Black sapphire 2 is a true navy. I am 5'2 and the medium is a perfect fit over a baselayer or 2 (I would size up if in-between). Thank you Arc'teryx!!!

I bought this for my mom and she is obsessed! She love how comfortable it is and also stylish. She got a size medium and it fits great. Runs true to size but if you are in-between go a size bigger. She loves this jacket for traveling and hiking.

      Amazing gift

      • Fit: True to size
      • Height: 5'11"

Bought this jacket as an early Christmas gift for my girlfriend and she loves it! She uses it all the time as a mid-layer on the mountain on cold days, and as an everyday jacket on surprisingly cold days in the valley. It is comfortable, stylish, lightweight, and as always Arc'teryx focuses on functionality for every aspect of the jacket. Highly recommended!

      AMAZING Jacket

      • Size Bought: small
      • Height: 5'3"
      • Weight: 125lbs

I gave this to my girlfriend for Christmas and I think she loves me even more now. This is her favorite jacket, she wears it everywhere. This is what she had to say, “This jacket is so comfortable. It’s a great mid-layer jacket and its functional and also flattering. My favorite aspect is the sleeves. I have short arms and am always struggling with long sleeves. The elastic in the wrist band helps keep the sleeve in place but doesn’t bunch or get in the way. I also like that there’s an inner chest pocket. Would definitely recommend this jacket!”

      Does it All

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size

I've used this jacket for just about every activity (hiking, climbing, skiing...you name it) and it has never disappointed. As someone who is always cold, this is a great extra layer of warmth that will keep you toasty without overheating. On top of being a great active jacket, it's also a great lightweight jacket on its own if the weather is fairly mild. And - it's super comfortable, you'll never want to take it off!

      Best Jacket I've Ever Owned

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Medium
      • Height: 5'5"
      • Weight: 130lbs

I bought this jacket and I wasn't sure I needed it as I had the North Face Ventrix and they are very similar. I do love my North Face but the Atom wins out and I wear it now almost every single day. My absolute favorite part are the sleeves and how slim and fitting they are. They do not fit puffy around my arms and rather have a spandex end of the sleeve so it fits comfortably around my hand. I also enjoy how high the zipper goes on the jacket and on a very cold day can cover the bottom half of your face to keep you a tad bit warmer. Cannot say enough good things about this jacket.

      Great Jacket!

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
      • Fit: Runs small
      • Size Bought: M
      • Height: 5'8"

I bought this for my wife for Christmas and she loves it. (You can't wait for Christmas when you give outdoors products! Hence the early review.) She normally wears a medium, but I had to exchange for a large. It fit great everywhere except the bust that was a little snug to the point the zipper slid down when she moved her arms back.

I did not realize but this is the same jacket on my list too, except the mens style. I am jealous. I have many Patagonia jackets, but all zippers end up breaking. Always. So that is one of the many reasons I wanted this jacket. I would definitely recommend!

What color is the lining on the black sapphire? I ordered the same jacket from another site and the lining was bright purple. Does this one have the bright purple also, or a more neutral color on tbe inside?

Hey Maggie, the old version had a much brighter liner than the current model. The current model is a navy blue color, see attached.
