I've worn this jacket for most of my outdoor applications over the last 2 months, kayaking, biking, hiking/backpacking, and running. Other than not having a chest pocket, this light jacket is phenomenal.. I bought it during an Arctyrx sale and it has been completely worth it. If you want to layer under it, buy a size up because it is pretty true to size.

I'm in my early 50's and don't handle cold-weather running as well as I did when I was younger and faster. This jacket has become essential for me. In temps 5-15F with 15-20 mph winds (and plenty of stronger gusts) this jacket is comfortable, both into the wind and with the wind at my back. (Warm? No. But if I'm feeling warm when running in the cold, I know that soon I'll be overheating and uncomfortable.) Rough conditions are now tolerable, and this jacket with a mid-weight base is better than anything I've tried. But here's my beef. This jacket is expensive (though nearly worth the price), and whoever designed has one job--make this exactly right for its use. Well, the pulls on the pocket zips and on the waist-elastic are way too small. If it's cold enough for this jacket, I'm wearing something fairly thick on my hands. If I need to tighten or loosen the waist-elastic, I want to be able to do it easily and without stopping. On this, the adjuster is so small that even bare-handed it's hard to manipulate, and there's no way to replace that part (though I can add ribbon or something on the pocket zips). It's like they wanted this heavy-duty piece to be sleek just where it shouldn't be. Again, this is still better than any other option for cold and wind, but it's frustrating that it could easily have been perfect but isn't.

Very light and warm. Don't even think about wearing this if it's even slightly warm. Perfect for trail running not tight or binds anywhere and I run in the rain and it keeps me warm in Ohio. Love the back stash pockets for my hat when I start to overheat. I think I will be able to run in the coldest of Ohio winters with this jacket but so far I have only ran down to 8f and so far so good. It's also very sharp looking I get stares for whatever reason wearing it. I would recommend it to anyone who likes winter trail running.

I'm really enjoying this jacket for my trail runs. It's really lightweight, comfortable and the Polartec insulation keeps you very warm!
