Not the most comfortable, but warm

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium
  • Height: 5'9"
  • Weight: 155lbs

I recently wore these tights in 30 deg F weather for a Turkey Trot. They def keep the heat in, so would use them for cooler runs. As another reviewer mentioned, I also experienced some rubbing by the seam on the back of the knee, which was noticeable for quite a while during the run. Thought this may be due to the sizing, perhaps I should have ordered a small. However I tried I small to see if too much fabric was the issue, and the small was way too tight and tough to pull off. Probably fine for walking/hiking, but I'd probably look for something with less friction for running.

Runs Small

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Medium
  • Height: 5'11"
  • Weight: 148lbs

I have an earlier model of the Accelero, size Large. Well made, good details, and nicely finished, but now too large. The size Medium I just ordered does not fit in three ways. It is short in the inseam by about two inches. The rise is short as well with the waistband not reaching my waist. Finally, they fit really tight - like compression tights, not the close, base layer bottoms fit I was hoping for. No problem returning them.

So Far So Good

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

My runs are normally between 3.1 and 12.1 miles. With rain or wind or both. I have a pair of insulated tights I run in but get a bit warm midway through the longer runs. I ordered these Arc'teryx tights to see if I could find a middle ground that would keep me warm but not too hot. I think I found them.

The first thing I noticed about these tights is that they are really snug (compared to the other non-Arc'teryx I've been wearing). I'm 6'2" and 185lbs with a 33" waist. The size medium fits me super snug (getting on and off around the ankles are tough, but I'm not too concerned). I think the size large would be too big for my waist, and any size smaller I'd tear the legs and butt right out. These tights feel both exceptionally thin and lightweight but with very strong fabric.

Snug is good, and as the description says, "Accelero supports your muscles, reduces fatigue, and has an exceptionally comfortable next-to-skin feel." I do feel waaaaay more muscle support in my runs than with the warmer, looser fitting tights I've been running with for years.

I'm in the northwest and have ran in heavy rain with these tights; absolutely no chaffing or any discomfort. They are snug and light enough that they don't seem to really hold any moisture.

I recommend these.
