I bought these for colder weather because I enjoyed the non-flannel pants. The heavier cotton is nice , takes abuse and I liked the looseness for climbing.Flannel adds extra warmth for winter. I'm disappointed that the non-flannel pants have changed somewhat in the last year and do not fit the same. While, these same sized flannel lined pants fit much better, and closer to the previous pants. I wonder about quality control.

I happen to love everything about the non flannel lined version of this pant, so I may be fairly biased about reviewing these. The flannel is really soft, the pants are thick, durable and fit well. For cold winter days where you are going to be outside (but not too active or you'll overheat) these are the greatest. They have a place on every shoulder season camping trip. They also fit true to size, with perhaps a tiny bit of a generous inseam.
