Freeride or die.
Made to meet the demands of Arbor's heavy-hitting backcountry riders, the Cypress Snowboard Binding delivers uncompromising support and response for taking down big mountain lines, dropping big cliffs, and sending backcountry booters. It has a stiff and energetic feel that instantly responds to your every command and holds up to the heaviest landings.
The X-Drive baseplate seamlessly transfers energy with its structural X-shaped design, comprised of four contact points overlaid with a vibration reducing interface. This baseplate minimizes on-board contact, so you can maximize the true flex of your board without the dead spot inherent to traditional bindings. This particular X-Drive baseplate features a 33% fiberglass blend, creating a more responsive ride for railing carves with precision and picking apart technical big mountain lines. Dual-density EVA pods under the ball and heel of your foot soak up impacts from monstrous drops and smooths out chatter when you're flying over tracked-out snow.

Dial it in before going to the mtn
- Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
I bought these bindings for my wife to complete her set up. By the middle of her first day using them, she was blown away and said, "These are best bindings I've ever used! I can't believe how awesome these are."
With that said, though they are not a complicated binding, I would suggest attaching these to your board and putting your snowboard boots on, then stepping into the binding and make any and all necessary adjustments prior to going to the mtn (like the night before). This can probably be said of any binding you purchase. After 30+ minutes or so of getting the straps to the correct length and making sure everything is properly in place, these turned out to be a fantastic choice! The strap part that wraps around the boot are made with a sturdy rubber adhered to closed cell phone make for a strong "seal" against the boot; sort of like how a gasket works to seal off a connection. This makes the binding a little heavier than a standing units with open cell foam, but it makes for superior performance and response with initiating turns, or when an unexpected bump catches you off guard.
These are certainly an upper level choice for any rider!

A little on the heavy side. Great binding!
