Getting the basics right at an affordable price.

Anon has broken new ground this year, going beyond goggles and introducing a new line of snowsport helmets. The company is obsessed with cool design and excellent functionality, and even its lower-priced Raider Helmet demonstrates the quality that Anon is going for. This helmet focuses on delivering the basics in the best possible way at a price that won't break the bank. The tough and durable Endura-Shell two-piece construction with an injection-molded ABS exterior is built to last through knocks and dings for long-term, reliable wear. The fleece lining and ear pads provide comfortable warmth and are removable if you prefer to wear your own favorite beanie underneath. The helmet is what Anon describes as "Simple Fit," which means it does not have a built-in adjustment system, but the removable lining and ear pads allow for some degree of variance.

Since you're working up a good sweat when you're out on your board, the helmet has strategically placed vents that use channels in the front to draw fresh air in while sweat moisture is pulled out the back. And if you like to keep a high-adrenaline soundtrack going during your runs or stay connected to your phone, the helmet is compatible with a Skullcandy speaker system (with an ear-pad mic and remote control option, system sold separately).

    Love It

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This helmet is so baller! It runs really small compared to my Smith helmets. I have the helmet in an older model in a size Large and it's too small with a beanie under it so, for this helmet, I sized up two full sizes according to the chart. My head is a 22.5" in circumference and I wear a mid-thickness beanie (Neff Daily Beanie for example) under my helmets so I went with a size XL, which fits perfect. I personally love the look of this style of helmet. Not a big fan of the helmets with all the ventilation holes and texture on the outer shell.

Style first, safety next, or vice versa?

Straight out of the box, I'm always worried about sizing. I ordered a size bigger than normal, but that was to allow for wearing a cap underneath. I was spot on. The helmet fits great and makes me look like what I will know what I'll be doing on the slopes. Since my melon is already large, it doesn't matter that it's even larger with this helmet on. I can't wait to try the helmet snowboarding next month. I'm glad I mad this purchase. The strap is comfortable and easy to put on. Great price and product....and fast delivery to Hawaii! Thanks so much Backcountry!

Fits Like a Ping Pong Ball

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The helmet seems to protect well, but could not look worse. You look like a space martian with it on. It's also not warm unless you put a hat on underneath. I would pass and get something else to be honest.

      awesome quality, weird fit.

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

This helmet is awesome. Super protective, but when I put it on I felt like a mushroom head. as far as performance its awesome, but I swapped it out for the anon blitz. Which has a more sleek profile. I would only get this helmet if you have a large noggin, or if you want something wider and more protective.

      Good but big

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have a big head, this is a big helmet. It is not a sleek helmet that molds to your head. But there is a reason for the size, it does incredibly well at shock absorption. I cracked the back of my head a couple times after hitting unexpected ice. Without a helmet I probably would have knocked myself out. With this on, I shook it off and was on my way.

The helmet is warm but it vents well. Even on a 40 degree day I didn't feel overheated. The customer service is great. The goggle clip fell off at some point, I emailed Anon and they sent me a new one a week later, free of charge.

      Huge and Uncomfortable

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I had high hopes for this helmet, unfortunately it was not at all what I wanted. I have a small-ish head, and the size small seemed to fit appropriately. However, the fit was weird and it put pressure on the temple areas of my head. This helmet looks and feels huge. I ordered the white and it looked like I had a giant ping pong ball on my head. Not quite the aesthetic I wanted.
Also the white is not a MIPS helmet, as it says in the color description.

      Great helmet for the price

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Helmet fits true to size, is very snug, warm, and affordable.

This is one of the best purchases I have made while learning to snowboard. The helmet is warm enough that I don't need to wear a cap underneath. It has also helped out on a few hard falls. Great buy for the cost. If you plan on renting it pays for itself in just a few days.

I would recommend this purchase to anyone.

      Glad I bought vs renting

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Used last week in Colorado, 4 days of snow skiing. Great fit all day. Kept head nicely warm in the cold temps, no cap needed. Smith Scope goggles fit perfectly with the helmet. The purchase cost was slightly less than renting!

      Does its job 100%

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

You would think a helmet is a helmet right? well it probably is but i can tell you one thing... i spent 7 hours in the glades yesterday and smacked my head about 5 trees and left without a headache. With that being said i did all of this while listening to my favorite music (i have the audio for the helmet) and while wearing my Spy Doom goggles which fit perfectly with the helmet. couldnt have had a better day. If that along with the unbeatable price doesnt sell it i dont know what will!!

      Awesome helmet

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Got this for Christmas and have worn it a few times out. Looks awesome and fits awesome. Definitely the best helmet for the price. Fits up perfectly with my Electric goggles- no wind or cold getting through. Very comfortable chin strap and ear muffs. Presses nicely against ears.

Just the helmet I was looking for!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have worn this helmet for a week of snowboarding so far. I really like it. I'm not a fan of brims on helmets; I think they look this one had the perfect look I wanted. It fits perfectly with my Electric EG2.5 goggles and the strap holder on the back is convenient (I also like that it's removable).

The matte black on this helmet looks really nice and the GoPro stick-on helmet mounts fit exactly with the curvature on the front and top of the helmet (I have one stuck on both places). The fleece cover for the chin strap is extremely comfortable. The original foam/fleece padding inside the helmet was too tight on my head, so I removed it, along with the snaggy velcro spots underneath, and simply wear it with my balaclava...very comfortable for me! The padding around the ears and back is very comfortable and warm, but is also easily removable if you so choose.

Great helmet and I look forward to wearing it for quite a few seasons!
