Gentle Water

These work well with light current and skittish fish. The need for floatant steers me to traditional indicators usually.

nice soft indicator

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

a great indicator for when you want them to be quiet and soft.

Not Bad

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Like others have said these work well as long as you keep them dry. Due to this I use Thingamabobbers more often but for some quite waters I like to use these.

Replaced by Thingamabobbers

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Used to have tons of these and made these at home until the Thingamabobbers came out. The small size Thingamabobbers have replaced these in my tackle box for lighter presentations and thinner water. Having to dress these indicators constantly makes these less desirable than the Thingamabobbers in my opinion.

Finesse

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Perfect strike indicator for quite waters where its easy to spook the fish. I did notice they don't work as well once they get wet, but if you add just a touch of float, they'll stay bobbing.

Soft Touch

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I love these for still water and slow moving pools because they seem far less disruptive on the surface than other indicators. I treat with a little liquid floatant when I first tie on and they float like a charm.

Keep it dry.

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Love this strike indicator for lightweight applications. I feel like it lays down lighter than other indicators. Best too keep it as dry as you can, when they get wet they don't manage as well.

a must for nymphing

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

if you must fish below the surface, you must use these. Throw a little Gink on there and they float forever.
