Why We Like The Timp 3 Trail Running Shoe

Not all of the trails we run on are clear and easy single track, when we're ducking branches, leapfrogging rocks, and winding through steep switchbacks we have a smooth ride in the Altra Timp 3 Trail Running Shoe. This reliable trail shoe balances comfort, cushion, and support to keep us moving forward with confidence.

  • Trail shoe that balances performance and comfort for long days
  • Soft Innerflex midsole offers a flexible and smooth ride
  • Lugged outsole digs into trails and grips on roots and rocks
  • Multi-directional mesh upper flexes with your foot as you run
  • Gaiter attachment points make it easier to keep out trail debris
  • Zero Drop platform promotes a healthier midfoot strike
  • Wide toe box allows toes to splay out naturally
  • Item #ATRQ01O

MY FEET HURT!!!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Fit:
Runs small
Size Bought
8
Height
5` 7"
Weight
123 lbs

This is my fourth pair of altra timps, (I also road run in the escalante's and even have work only pairs of escalante's that I wear as an RN) sadly the timp 3's are killing my feet. I LOVE altra and always reccommend them as my favorite shoe but I don't know what happened to my favorite shoe. Unfortunately I bought this pair through backcountry, (which I normally never buy shoes from them because the return policy is horrible incase your shoes don't work out) I thought I was safe buying my trusty timps that I had been running in for years. I kept trying to "break them in" which I've never had to do with them before....I was so wrong, they cannot be broken in. My feet are killing me. The shoes feel way too narrow and squeeze the front/top of my foot in. I have always bought a size 8 in the timps but these feel a half to full size smaller than any of my other timps all of my toes now on both of my feet have blood blisters on them. I truly love altra's and hate to write a bad review but my feet are suffering and now I am out $150 on shoes that are killing my feet and that I can't return since I have run in them. It is a huge bummer. Hopefully next seasons timps don't have these issues as I want to keep running in altras.
