Timp 1.5 Trail Running Shoe
Not all of the trails you run on are clear and easy single track, but even when you're ducking branches, leapfrogging rocks, and winding through steep switchbacks you'll have a smooth ride in the Altra Timp 1.5 Trail Running Shoe. This reliable trail shoe has been updated with softer cushioning and a more flexible feel, so when you're gliding over technical terrain with ease and comfort, you know what to thank. Its adaptive upper is also made with multi-directional mesh, which moves with your foot as you run but still ensures a supportive and secure fit.
The Timp 1.5's outsole has also been updated, now sporting a grippier DuraTread rubber for secure footing and maneuverability on rocky trails. You'll also have a TrailClaw lug pattern that digs into soft trails for dependable traction and greater performance on steep terrain. A four-point gaiter attachment lets you clip in your gaiters for a snug fit that won't let in dirt, rocks, or other trail debris, and thanks to Altra's zero drop design and wide toe box you'll have a natural and healthy stride the whole way.

New Favorite Fit
I really am enjoying the wide toe box on these shoes. My feet feel so much relief that I didn't know they needed. I didn't know running didn't have to hurt my feet, or I would have switched a lot sooner.
Best Trail Shoes!
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I am obsessed with these shoes! I own three pairs of the original Timps and love them. I was a little worried that the Timp 1.5's would fit a lot differently, but the changes Altra made are perfect. I wore these this weekend for a 50 miler in Moab and they performed great. The course had two water crossings and I didn't get any blisters or hot spots. I normally wear a 9 in street shoes, so I got the 9.5 and they fit great. I am excited to use these shoes this summer for all of my long runs!
Friend loves them!!
- Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
I got these for a friend after convincing her that she would love them. I have the lone peaks, and let her wear them on one climb we did together when her hiking boots were just killing her and giving her blisters. After wearing mine, she was convinced! I bought these for her birthday, here is her response:
“These are the most comfortable all around shoes I have! I use them for hiking, biking, going to the gym, and running errands. Even hiking steep trails haven’t given me a blister yet. I got a size 8 which fit perfectly, I usually get an 8 or 8 1/2 so they run a little larger.”
I would convince anyone who is looking for a comfortable hiking shoe to buy Altra trail running shoes. Their zero drop design and wide toe box literally makes it the comfiest shoe ever! You don’t have to trail run to love this shoe. As my friend said, you can pretty much wear them for anything!
