I received these shoes today. They have a lot of cushion. The guiderail is the best component of this shoe. My foot stays in place when I work out. I have purchased 2 different colors. It runs a little small so I sized up.

Perfect

I purchased the Paradigm 5 after really disliking the Paradigm 6. These are the most comfortable, perfect-fitting shoe I have ever worn. They have fantastic support and stability with a very secure feel compared to the 6's, and they have some cushion but not too much like the newer version. I like that they are a little narrower than other Altra styles while still having a natural foot shape. Clearly, a lot of wider-footed folk are attracted to the Altra brand, so there are some complaints about width in the reviews. It would be great if Altra added multiple width options to all their styles to accommodate both wide and normal feet (like I have). Lastly, unlike the updated version, these actually look cute on my feet which is always a plus! I hope Altra will incorporate the strengths of this version of the Paradigm into its future designs.

good shoe, bad sizing

I am super excited about these shoes but I need a size 11-1/2! You only make 11 and 12. so I had to buy the men's version, which has less exciting colors :(

I would buy this product again but in a different color.

A good replacement from Provision 3.5

I used to run with Provisions and when they changed it after 3.5, I have not been comfortable with the lack of support. This Paradigm 5 feels almost the same as the provision, just that is seems smaller, so you might need to 1/2 size up. However overall, it felt the same on the road for running.

Toe box narrow

My toes are crowded and my big toe hits the end of the shoe. Never had this problem before with other paradigms. Color is peeling off the top of the shoe. I hope the next model will be more of a throwback to older ones.

Shoe is sloped!

I've been in the Paradigm for years and just love running in them. I was excited to get a new pair in Raspberry (I like bright colored shoes). They were delivered super fast. But's that's were the love ended. I put the shoes on and immediately my foot rolled so much to the outside that my arch came off the floor. I thought maybe I got a bad pair until I read another review that said the same thing. Just standing still was uncomfortable. These are definitely, disappointingly, going back. Not ready to bail on Altra but just heartbroken to have to find another shoe.

I would buy this product again and again and again and again

I would buy these shoes (and others in the ALTRA line) if you would offer them for Women in sizes with a wide width. I bought two pair in 7 wide last year; this year I found only one style in "7 B" in only one color. If I had known it would be so difficult I would have purchased more last year!!. I am STILL WEARING the two pair from last year, one for gardening, mowing the lawn, and the other pair for walking, hiking, and everything else. I don't go outside the house unless I am wearing these shoes. I wore them (out of the store the day I purchased them because they felt like, walking in Heaven. WOW!!! So try them then buy them! IF, they have a pair in your size! Good Luck!!! Desperate in Alaska

I love these shoes.

I have purchased three pairs of these Paradigm shoes and one pair of the Riveria and I love the color on the Riveria but I love the comfort of the Paradigm ones. I am getting over cancer and my balance is bad but these shoes have helped me stand and not fall. The comfort level is the best of any other shoe I have tried.

I should stick to local stores so I can try on shoes.

The product was returned because they were too narrow for my feet.
