Nice car camping pad for the price
I just got back from a trip using this pad for the first time. I have to say I was impressed with it. It was easy to inflate. It was long enough that I never felt I was off the pad, even though I fidget when I sleep. It had just the right amount of support and I did not feel any of the bumps under the tent. It is an excellent pad for the price. I only wish it were a bit easier to deflate and roll up. But, I can deal with that.

Nice Pad for the Price
I've only used this pad a couple of times but it is pretty nice. They are fairly comfortable once inflated. They are a bit on the large side once rolled (about the same size as a 2 person tent); so they may require some creativity to pack for backpacking but are great for car camping, having on hand, etc. Also used mine as a hammock insulator with some mild success. As they are usually on sale, I would definitely recommend.

Bought these for the kids for Christmas and they really love them. They're adult size so anticipating them using them for years to come. Haven't used them camping yet but we inflated them and tested them in the house the first night and they were quite comfortable. Really like the sticky lettering on the logo to prevent your bag from slipping.

Bed like comfort
This is a great car camping pad d/t it's size. It is very comfortable and I sleep quite well on it. 2 brass inlets/outlets. No issues with durability. It gets 4 stars because I think it's a little slippery. I've noticed that on very gradual inclines I will slide down to the bottom.

Great pad for the buck!
We bought two of these for our scout-aged sons (12 and 14) for use at a week long scout camp. Both came back with great reviews and no complaints of inflation issues, valve problems, or sliding around. As a starter pad for car campers, this is a great buy.

Awesome For The Price
I honestly thought that this sleeping pad was going to be poor quality because it's on the cheaper side, but it turns out that it's actually pretty great. It inflates by itself and as long as you make sure it's fully inflated, it's actually pretty comfortable. It's a good length too so it's good for people who are a bit taller. Definitely would buy it again.

Great in my Hammock
I bought this sleeping pad to use as insulation in my hammock during colder nights- it works great! Upon unpackaging, it inflated on its own, I followed instructions and let it sit inflated overnight. It inflates well on its own after that. The pad is thin and narrow making it the perfect size for my hammock. It fit well and the rubber lettering helped keep my sleeping bag in place on top of the pad. It's surprisingly confortable on the ground also. At 50% off this thing is a great deal. It comes with a small repair kit also in case it develops a hole, which is nice. I haven't had to use it and hopefully won't!

Awesome so far
Got it unrolled and laid on a couple times, I like the thickness but I bought them because they were the cheap option. I'm super impressed how comfy they are to sleep on and since I'm a side sleeper my hips tend to push on the ground but I haven't had any problems yet.

Great for car camping
Pair this with the Alps cot for a super comfortable car camping adventure!

Pretty comfy when inflated fully!
This pad is super long, which is great for people who are tall or people like me who shift around a fair amount in their sleep...but it means a lot air and time needed to inflate! It is really supportive and great after a long day of hiking and adventuring around. I love the stuff sack and the ties that come with it. The self inflating feature could definitely work better but I don't mind needing to manually inflate it, just takes a while.

This is an awesome pad for the price. Perfect campground pad.

So it shows up and it's in a clear plastic shrink tube, uggh, wish it had a bag to put it in - low and behold, take it out of plastic and rolled up in the pad is the bag. Wished it had straps to wrap around it - there they were in the bag. This ended up being exactly what I wanted. As always, blowing in the valve helps the inflation process. Worked great! Packed great!

Good Nights Rest
Bought this for a friend to take a week long road trip. Tested it out before giving it to him, it's plenty comfortable, and looks like it'll hold up well to abuse. Definitely not something you'd want to bring backpacking, leave it for car camping.

Slept like a baby
It did what we asked of it but, I would like a little more padding. Really enjoy the non-slip grip on the pad that kept my sleeping bag from moving around.

This is my first experience with a foam/inflating pad like this. I am really pleased. It was a little hard to roll it back up - just takes a little elbow grease. Right now I don't have a bed in my home so I am sleeping on it nightly and it is very comfortable all things considered.

Rugged and comfortable.
I purchased 2 of these to replace my ridge rest sol. Is definitely an upgrade, but I couldn't say for everyone. I camp with my dog, so rugged came before weight for me. These pads are built to last, and so far I can't see how to damage it. There's other pads out there much lighter and much more packable though. This pad goes exactly where my ridge rest went, only easier. Poles still get rolled up inside. Don't expect to fit this inside a pack. If you're use to a foam pad, the time it takes to get this ready might be a disappointment.

How much does the regular weigh?????
July 9, 2017
How big is the regular size when rolled up? Is it significantly smaller than a RidgeRest? I'm curious how much volume these take up in airline checked luggage. Thanks!

Hey Tim - The ALPS Mountaineering Foundation Sleeping Pad rolls up to fit inside a 5"x21" stuff sack which is similar to the RidgeRest. Feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions. - Kyle L. - Expert Gearhead - email@example.com - 801-736-4337
